Field House Bar in Iowa City is a really fun place to go out if you’re looking for classic college bar vibes while still getting a taste of unique Iowa City culture. It’s got plenty of seating, a dance floor, excellent drinks, and little touches of Hawkeye décor here and there that make it stand out from the crowd. I would totally recommend dropping by this Iowa City night life staple at least once while you’re out!
The vibe is usually good but I do think they really need to shake up the music a bit. One moment the music is fire but the next could turn it way down when it could be a hot streak. Drinks are so so, I would expect much if you get a drink.
We have been going here for years and like it. This is the bar we go to when we want to dance and listen to good music, but not have to fight for room. It isn't as crowded as it used to be which is a plus and everyone is always nice!
