Classic dive bar. If it's not made in the fryer or griddle they don't have it. But it's a good stop for bar food if you don't want the bougie food closer to campus. Server was a bit confused but in the best possible way. Too many jobs to remember which bar she was working that day. Teased her a bit and she responded in kind. Love these types of places.
Good hometown vibes at this 90 year old bar at the top of a hill. Big Grove on draft and a sizeable food menu. Dad had the fried gizzards and I had a patty melt with onion rings. Great older bartender ladies that are sweet as can be. I’d come back for the pool tables and nuthin fancy attitude.
This place has been a staple in the iowa city area as long as I can remember. It's the kind of bar where, if you're local you'll know someone there. Juke box, pool, arcade games. The staff is always friendly and fast. Always a good time!
