Great food, great service. The fries are always crispy, and the burgers are highly customizable. You can swap out any burger patty for a black bean burger or grilled chicken. Really, they've been fine with every substitution or modification that was requested. They also have some good wings. The servers are top tier, too. Attentive, friendly, but not hovering. We've gone a few times and it's always been solid.
Vegetarian options: You can switch out any burger for a black bean burger.

When my group of three walked in to the establishment, we asked politely for the booth that was open as the only other table was tucked away in the corner and unsuitable for the party that we had. After the manager/host ignored our request three separate times, we went to a different host to ask for a different table. She said that we were able to move, but her manager is “usually rude like this.” The manager then came back to the table, clapped his hands and sucked his teeth and said “well these are the options, and you can take them or leave them.” The way this man handled this situation is disgusting and for his employees to know that he’s this rude and inconsiderate for the customers is crazy and disgusting. never returning, and you shouldn’t either.

It's one of my favorite burger places when I'm in the area. It's a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere.
Came here on account of the reportedly outstanding bread pudding - I am pleased to report this information was accurate, it's a must have. I should've asked for it al la mode, but it still knocked my socks off.
Furthermore, they were running a deal: $12 for 25 oz of mimosa are mighty treacherous waters, but I was on vacation so I turned into a day drinking pirate.
Also our server was attentive and loads of fun, and the staff flexible with seating and plating options.
I ordered a really weird combination of food while I was here, but I had a positively marvelous time.
5/5, I could be easily persuaded to come back.

A trip to move our kid into grad school and the hunger of working all afternoon led us to experience this gem. The curb appeal matched the cozy interior of this pub. The seating outside is covered by vines. Dim lighting, leather , and rusted steel beams send out the cozy vibe. The menu hosts an array of comfort foods with variety for each one. Among some good looking appetizers, salads and sandwiches the menu also has different loaded fries, mac and cheese, and hamburgers. I had the Benton burger with house made fries. The blue cheese spread was plentiful and delicious. My grad student had the chicken parm sandwich. My other kid had the fancy fries, with cheese, bacon, and green onions. My wife had the Maynard burger. For dessert we shared a salted carmel brownie and the oreo ice cream cake. The cocktail choices we excellent too. I had a blueberry cider, my daughter ordered a blackberry mojito. To speak of the staff, I have not been in a place where everyone is so genuinely concerned with making the guest experience pleasant. Smiles, great small talk, timeliness and the attention to detail were evident with the two staff we met. This place has already become an Iowa City standard for when we come to visit!

I honestly have not been to a restaurant that serves a better burger than Hudson's! Their flavors are bold and the toppings are fresh and tasty. And they serve a generous helping of the most delicious fries. I would recommend this place to anyone.
