lovely cupcakes and icecream...friendly staff ... I tried their brownies , mint chocolate ice cream and cookies ice cream and they were all delicious... this time I had their crème brûlée ice cream and it’s so good! Go try it you won’t regret it! it is highly recommended!!!

I forgot to take photos of the cupcakes. My daughter and I purchased 3 filled cupcakes. Tiramisu, Wild Berry and Cookies and Cream.
The service was great, the gal that was waiting on us answered all our questions and didn't rush us. (There wasn't a line, that was helpful I think.) It's a tiny store with a few places to sit. Nothing fancy but did the job.
The frosting on the tiramisu was odd. The texture/feel was almost like a frosting with a stabilizer in it. I ended up taking it off of the top and eating the cupcake. It needed more coffee flavor. The wild berry was OK. The filling was a little tart. I didn't purchase it for myself but my husband decided he didn't want a cupcake so some one had to try it. The cookies and cream was fine tasting but dry. It was only midday so I would assume it was fresh from the morning and not from the day before so it would have been overcooked instead.
I only gave a 3 star on the food based on our preferences. Others may like it. For the price (yes downtown is more, I get it) I will pass if I can't be sure the food will be 5 star.

Bought a cherry pie and it was raw. The only part of the pie that was cooked top the top. It was clearly made with canned cherries and store bought crust.

The Molly's crew is super helpful and attentive, and they make a mean cupcake! I recently ordered cupcakes to be delivered to honor some folks, and the order ended up happening during the recent cold front. The team reached out to me to coordinate a different delivery time because their delivery van wasn't working in the cold! I appreciated the extra level of care that they demonstrated to not only me, the customer, but to their staff to keep them safe during times when it isn't safe to drive. Not only that, but the cupcakes were delivered without delay and were absolutely loved by the recipients! I'll definitely be ordering from them again!

Went to Molly’s for a sweet treat during Thanksgiving break week! I have always enjoyed the food! On this particular visit I left my wallet at the store. I didn’t realize it until 2 hours later. I called the store and they had it. A VERY nice young man brought it to me an hour after I called! Great food and service above and beyond!
Cute shop and nice staff however we were extremely disappointed with our cupcakes. The sign out front that declared one of the top 10 cupcake bakeries in the country is what drew us in but all 3 off the cupcakes we had we would rate at the bottom 10. Creative creations and combinations but awful taste (tasted like they were frozen and thawed) and left a horrible aftertaste. Not moist.

Wow! I am not a cupcake fan, but I LOVED these cupcakes. I have to eat dairy and gluten free, and their menu had a DF GF carrot cake and DF GF pumpkin spice cupcake. My husband and I shared them. He thoroughly enjoyed the carrot cake and I, the pumpkin spice. These are the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. So much favor and moistness in the cupcakes! If a bakery can make me a fan of cupcakes after not liking them my whole life, they deserve high praise! The staff were so kind and helpful with allergens and telling me about their seasonal flavor. I love the owner's story, too, on why he had the bakery. Everyone, go buy their cupcakes.
We absolutely love mollys. We have been coming here since 2013ish. I was allergic to eggs and dairy at this time so I had to eat vegan food. I haven’t had any place that offered vegan options for dessert so I was stuck with homemade goodies. I almost cried when I could have chocolate peanut butter frosting(my favorite)! I had them cater our wedding. I found out after after my wedding that the cupcake frosting was starting to melt a little(not much honestly but it was also 103 hot July afternoon wedding-not including the heat index). They were able to remake it and have it back by supper! I had NO idea that it had happened they were so fast! On top of that they give you a small cake on your anniversary! Can we just admit that is awesome customer service and MUCH BETTER THAN FREEZING the wedding cake! We had them do our gender reveal cupcakes and they did a great job with that!!! I haven’t even talked about the actual cupcakes yet! That’s just how awesome they are to work with!! I am no longer allergic to any foods, so my favorite cupcakes are the crème brûlée and Ron Bennington! I love that the creme brûlée has the hard sugar topping like the dessert does, the inside tastes like the custard with creme brûlée but somehow better?! The Ron Bennington is my favorite go to chocolate cake light and fluffy with a “hard” ganache filling and frosting with a hint of peanut butter. A must have if you love chocolate peanut butter like me. The funny part is that the topping is butterfinger crumble on top so you aren’t expecting it to be that for the cake and frosting. It’s absolutely delicious! The owners are very sweet and great with their customer service. My complaint is that they are downtown, so outside of school breaks we don’t get downtown much. I have had the cupcakes from scratch and that other place in Cedar Rapids and they can’t touch mollys! Definitely go and get a variety it’s impossible to not find one you love!!!

Molly's catered a small cake and a large number of cupcakes for my mid-sized wedding. Sour stuff first: Complaints (none large enough to warrant less than a five-star review): 1) They didn’t keep a record of our deposit. This seemed unprofessional and disorganized. Luckily, I was able to provide proof of the transaction, and then they “found” it (and didn’t make us pay again). 2) The cake appeared hastily decorated and put together. It did not have the details of the design we had discussed, and the food coloring in the frosting was streaky and not completely mixed. It was still delicious, but disappointing because the main purpose of the cake was for the cutting photos! 3) We had a miscommunication about when we needed the cake delivered. Molly’s was able to get it to us in time, but it sure gave us a scare.
Ultimately, delicious cake and cupcakes. Our wedding guests were happy, and, to our knowledge, no one with allergies or sensitivities had any negative impacts. Their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions was one of the reasons we chose Molly’s. Their gluten-free cupcakes are genuinely some of the best. Due to a planning/ordering error on our part, we overlooked our need for a singular egg-free cupcake. Molly’s kindly hand-delivered said solitary cupcake when we frantically called to ask for a remedy. This sort of kindness is some of the best customer service around and more than makes up for the hiccups we had with the process.
