The guys there wait a few minutes after the pizzas come out before adding them to the front case so the toppings don't slide off the top.

Gave it a 2nd try. The pizza is SUPER thin crust, which i forgot about. I'm more of a thicker thin crust of that makes sense. Had the half cheeseburger, half libby. Waaayyy too many jalapeños on the libby. The sauerkraut was plentiful, which made the crust soggy. The cheeseburger pizza was really good though. Their cheese bread os a large bread loaf, cut in half, and topped with cheese, searved with runny marinara. The marinara had good flavor! Not my most favorite crust, and if I go back, I will keep it simple on the pizza. Service was good though! Coke products. Beer available. Daughter got the chicken fingers. Fingers had flat breading, served with steak fries

My buddy and I dined here today after a sporting event and the atmosphere was good it has a very old school pizza joint feel to it which I love the pizza was decent our waitress was very nice and friendly my two main issues were first my buddy had to wait half an hour for his beer and even longer for a refill the bartender was serving food to customers instead of the wait staff then started washing dishes instead of getting my friend that refill I myself ordered a sprite and it was the worst sprite I’ve ever had it tasted more like seltzer water so I had to switch to coke my second issue is gps took us to the back entrance and there was no clear signage so it was very difficult finding the place and very little handicapped parking Overall not worth the frustration won’t be coming back to Sam’s anytime soon

We ordered a meat lovers Chicago style pizza - it was delicious!! This will be from now on our pizza place here in Iowa City. Lots of fun variety in pizza toppings and specialty pizzas. Our pizza was well prepared and included yummy ingredients! The crust is my favorite part. 10/10 recommendation!

Bacon cheeseburger pizza is amazingly delicious. They have a REALLY good red sauce! Service is great too! Nice big, open atmosphere. Definitely recommend trying a pizza!

My daughter & I started eating at Sam's Pizza in the 90's when it was a very small establishment. We preferred eating at the small tables in the back. That is where you went to give them your order. There used to be a saltwater fish tank with beautiful fish. Everything tasted the same! Great sauce, toppings & crispy crunchy crust brings back lots of good memories! Food 5+, atmosphere 2, because it lacked the charm and authenticity of those days gone by. We will eat here again! Bring your money because prices have definitely changed.
