Teamo tea is the best! The service has always been amazing, the owner is so sweet, and it is personally the best boba I have ever had! Every time I have came the drinks have stayed consistently good and Teamo Tea is definitely the best boba in Iowa (in my opinion) :)

Ordered boba using a friend’s DoorDash account yesterday and upon receiving our boba we found this note. They had ran out of regular black milk tea and had substituted that for green milk tea for a flavored drink we ordered. We didn’t receive any notice, nor were we asked for preferences on if we wanted to do that or switch the drinks to something without the black milk tea. Needless to say the drink was absolutely disgusting, and I’m frustrated that I paid full price for the drink. They had the time to make a hand written note apologizing for the drink, instead of just reaching out asking how we wanted to proceed. The main reason this is getting a two star review is because all the other drinks in the order were really good, it’s just the lack of communication that was frustrating, especially since I paid full price only to receive something I didn’t order, and tasted awful. Normally the quality and customer service is amazing here, and I recommend this place to friends all the time. But maybe stick to ordering in person and not placing to-go orders.

They have pretty good fruit tea, and the workers there are usually pretty chill. One cool thing in the shop is this bulletin board of sticky notes and anyone can write/draw something and pin it up.

This is me and my gf’s go to spot for a boba drink. We have been there for over 10 times and they were all great experiences. The employees are extremely efficient and attentive, they had my drink ready in less than a minute no kidding! The owner is also very friendly and attentive. They recently added a 10 second challenge where you can get a free drink if you hit the ‘10:00:00’ mark on the stopwatch, it’s always fun to participate and try your luck. They also have a great loyalty program, you get a free drink every 10 that you order and during happy hours, you get a ‘buy one get one half off’ discount as well. The bathroom is also clean and tidy. I have had been to other boba place dt, but none can compete with teamo, they are the best of the best! Will definitely recommend getting a drink or two if you are in town. One suggestion for the store tho is to implement accessible features like automatic door opening. If you are looking for suggestions for drinks, here are my favourites: Ube Cloud, Royale Black Plain Tean, Taro Milk Tea and of course their Signature Teamo Milktea.

I remember when Teamo first opened, and it became my favorite place downtown in high school! Their drinks are amazing and the most affordable among Iowa City boba shops. Their owner and staff are so friendly and helpful, and I'm deeply appreciative of their ongoing support for local and student organizations. I also love their reward system, the sticky note wall, and their seating options provide the perfect ambiance. They're long overdue for a review from me but I hope they know how beloved they are in our community. It's genuinely the only place I can never say no to. My current rotating favorites are the wintermelon roasted milk tea, mango green milk tea, wintermelon ice cream tea, and the shaken fruit teas.

Teamo is the best boba place in Iowa city! The owner is super friendly and awesome! We love their passionfruit fruit tea and their strawberry Teamo. They catered our wedding and were amazing on our special day! Highly recommend this boba shop! Very good quality and delicious drinks!
Employees were really nice and offered me recommendations since it was my first time visiting. The AC was out when I went, but here’s to hoping it gets fixed soon. Fast service, and I really liked the cushioned seating that helped me get comfortable to read my book while enjoying my drink 🧋

I come to Teamo Tea every so often, hoping for some improvement, but it’s always the same letdown. In the middle of summer, the AC isn’t working, and the best solution offered is a bucket of ice in front of a fan. It’s uncomfortably hot, humid, and feels like no one in charge actually cares about creating a decent customer experience.
The drink menu never changes. Ever. No seasonal options, no creativity, and—most frustratingly—no sugar-free drinks at all. If there were just a couple low-sugar or sugar-free options, I’d honestly be here a lot more often. But instead, it feels like the place is stuck in time.
The employees are the one bright spot: friendly, helpful, and clearly doing their best. But it seems like they’re working under a micromanaging, checked-out owner who puts zero effort into evolving or improving the shop.
