Tradition no more! Pizza was horrible last Saturday. Spent almost $50 on 2 pizzas for pick-up, and later confirmed that neither pizza was cooked with any yeast in the dough. How does something that bad leave your restaurant for consumption? "Chicago style" looked like a crepe underneath a pile of toppings.

The Airliner in Iowa City is a classic institution known for its great food and service. It has been a fixture at UofIowa for decades, offering a menu that includes cold beer, pizza, and burgers. The restaurant features a nostalgic interior, making it perfect for enjoying lunch and drinks, with specials like half-price Tuesdays. The staff is friendly and funny, providing memorable service.
Recently, the restaurant has handled large groups well, with servers earning praise for their excellent service. Drinks are reported to be very well made and delivered quickly. The pizza is described as Iowa pizza, which varies by preference, while the Italian beef is noted to be spot on, accompanied by a fantastic giardineria and ultra crispy fries. Although the building has adequate space for larger parties, some guests have mentioned issues with the restrooms, affecting the overall atmosphere rating. While the menu has slimmed down over the years, customers still enjoy the pizza and burgers, although some have experienced longer wait times for food and menu item availability, especially during busy weekends.
