I miss El Banditos, but Black Angel carries a lot of the same dishes. Good food and atmosphere. Usually good wait staff as well.

This is our 3rd time at Black Angel, this time for a delicious breakfast. We had breakfast tacos with hash browns and a breakfast burrito this morning. Servings are very generous - we have enough for breakfast another day!

Chicken and waffles can be really disappointing; this may have been the best I've ever had. My friend got grits, which I don't usually like, but I still stole a few bites and found them excellent. I was just visiting, but am very jealous of those who can just keep coming and eat their way through the menu.

Was there for breakfast Sat morning. Our server had a table of 8 next to us finishing up. She gave us menus and drinks and said she'd be right back. The table of 8 decided to have individual checks. At this point, she should have had the hostess run the bills, and the server take our order. Staff was sitting around watching her. Then, she went and got the food for the other tables. After that, she decided to rearrange the tables from the group of 8. This took over 20 minutes to do. She never stopped by to top off my coffee or to see how everything was. We were there for over an hour, and it wasn't busy.
Another thing, you state you're an American restaurant, but almost everything on the breakfast menu is Mexican. You may want to change that.

Service was great! We had Ruby & she was very kind & sweet. The soda was flat & a lot of spicy options on the menu & no way to make them non spicy & no milk for the little one. But we got here about 1pm on a Sunday. Right before close & before they closed probably to restock but no harm. They also have coloring & a nice kids menu to keep LO occupied

Food is hit or miss. For instance, their nachos can be very yummy, but sometimes they don't dry off the lettuce and all the chips on the bottom of the plate are soggy. Their coffee is universally terrible. Intimate place to see a band. Cocktails are usually good, but service tends to be slow. Great neighborhood location with a terrible bike rack.

I don't 5 star a lot, but you MUST stop by here. The food's quality, and the presentation, was Las Vegas level. Even though they don't take reservations, Austin made sure I had a good table reserved for me. I will be back here very soon!
