Unimpaired Dry Bar- Iowa City

Place itself is awesome!Only 3 stars because the last 3 times I've tried to stop by during posted business hours it's been closed.Do we need to call ahead every time? Or do business hours need to be updated?

Ordered food on door dash, I show up, and it’s not open!!! Not to mention I call and it’s straight to voicemail every time. Is this place ever open? Ridiculous! Update your hours.

We live about a half hour outside of town, and my wife is pregnant, so it looked like a good place to try. We got the Groupon deal, but when we showed up last night, Wednesday, it was closed. There were no signs on the door, nothing on the Facebook page or website to indicate that it was closed, so that was definitely frustrating. We are not able to get away on dates much with having a toddler, so it was a disappointment that they were closed during their business hours with no other info on it. Not exactly sure how often this happens, but with having to plan ahead of time on a date, I'm not sure if we'll be able to actually use our voucher or not.

Well... still haven't actually gone because it wasn't open on a Monday even though it should have been as far as we knew.

I have to say the staff was completely wonderful and did a great job. I was just completely disgusted by how understaffed it was. I went on a Saturday night and there was only one person working the kitchen and one person taking orders and making drinks. I find it awful that they wouldn’t hire more staff or that the owner wouldn’t come and help. I worked in service industry and what really impresses me is how well the staff is treated and I just wanted to cry here because I felt so sorry for the poor overworked staff.

Service was soooo sloooow. Food was bar food. People were awkward. I dunno. It wasn't terrible but it could have been better.

Had Matt as our bartender and he was a pleasure to talk too amd all around awesome guy!! Also had there garlic cheesy bread and a pizza which both were awesome!! Super nice to be able to hang out at a bar and drink a good selection of NA's and eat some good food with a awesome vibe and not have to deal with drunkin stupers. Only thing I would recommend to them is that they would carry Brewdog and Ceria NA's otherwise will be back, wish they had one in minneapolis

A very lackluster experience for New Year’s Eve, unfortunately. Despite the restaurant being virtually empty we waited well over 10 minutes to have our orders taken and then were rushed the check before we could order anything else. Then they didn’t pick the check up after rushing it on us. Very dull environment too for a bar. Service was some of the worst we’ve experienced.

Place was awesome! Ordered the Mayne pizza and it was delicious. Matt was our server and he was the best! Will definitely be back.

I cannot recommend this place enough!! The staff is always so friendly and sweet, and their mocktails are amazing :) my personal favorites are the Slamber, the Smoked Komjito, and The Stormy. The pizza is also so good--their spinach garlic is hands down one of the best ones I've had. Unimpaired deserves so much attention and love from the community, it really is one of the best places in downtown IC <33
