I normally don’t leave reviews but this experience needed to be shared. I was visiting my cousin in Iowa City from Mason City and we thought we would treat ourselves to Yotopia because everyone apparently raves about it. Well I have no idea what those people are talking about. The flavors were completely watered down and honestly it tasted like melted ice in a cup. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever.
To make things worse I think the owner said her name was Vanessa or Veronica and she was incredibly rude. No greeting, no smile, just attitude. For someone running a business you would think she would at least pretend to care about her customers.
Honestly this place was such a disappointment. I do not know how it is even still open with yogurt that bland and service that unpleasant. Do yourself a favor and go to Dairy Queen instead because at least they know how to make ice cream that actually tastes like something.

Home town frozen yogurt served by friendly staff. We loved the reusable plastic bowl option for eat-in. Just fill the bowl yourself with froyo & toppings & return the bowl when you finish. The owners are super supporters of local causes. Can't get enough of the seasonal lavendar berry flavor. Locally sourced from Country View Dairy too! Oh almost forgot, there are vegan choices there as well.

We have been coming to YOTOPIA since Veronica opened in 2011. Our oldest was 1 that year and the Coco froyo has been our all time favorite every time. Our visits to YOTOPIA are always a treat-friendly service, clean & tolerant of our kids’ shenanigans. Thank you for continuing to be an IC go-to over the years. We will always come back as long as you stay ❤️🍦

Yotopia is an Iowa City staple! They have delicious flavors & toppings made with local dairy and do collaborations with other local businesses. There are so many options for toppings and they always have non-dairy flavors and a tart flavor (unflavored/unsweetened), so there is something for everyone. I also love that they are woman-owned, and do fundraisers for local community organizations. I first had Yotopia years ago as a student, and I missed it when I moved away! Now that I am back in town, I bring all my friends and family here when they visit. Even our dogs love coming here to grab a pup cup! We 🩵 Yotopia!
