This place was recently bought by the waitresses from the original owner who retired. Thankfully, the print on the menu is the only thing that's changed. The food is still excellent, as it always was before. Service, of course, is just as friendly as you'd expect, and no one is a stranger. Just a great family diner with great food. Try the breakfast! Offered all time of day, it's the best!! But if you're not a breakfast eater they have wonderful lunch and dinner entrees as well! You can't go wrong with this place!

Waited 30 minutes for our sandwich. They didn't seem very busy it was 11:o clock in morning.1 waitress..when our sandwiches came they were burned andcrispy around the edges.. we told the waitress about the sandwiches she told us they were having problem with the cooks....this the third time we have heard that from the waitress....FIX THE PROBLEM

Now called The Junkyard Cafe. The new ownership has changed the name and the menu. It's one thing to have a few specially named sandwiches (as the Uptown did), but when every item (on the breakfast side, anyway) has a car-themed name, it's a bit excessive. Don't make me say Lugnuts and Gravy - I'm gonna call it biscuits and gravy like everywhere else in the state.

The food was very good. But the waitress was very poor. She only came & took the order & brought the food to the table & never ever came & checked on us again if we needed anything. Our drink glasses were both empty & we needed a to go box because we couldn't eat all of our meal. So I had to ask for a to go box when I paid the ticket.
