The Gyudon is amazing and the only place in town that I believe sells it. Will definitely come back specifically for this dish!

The sushi was fresh and excellent! Big kudos to the chef. The restaurant atmosphere was great. What Ruined the whole experience was sitting at the bar and listening to the Manager for 25 min recounting all of her personal issues to a random therapist sitting next to us. Her eyes never looked up to us as she was in an intense therapy session. Topics were Dad, step dad, ex husband, her son, and drugs. We heard it ALL. We’re not against therapy but there’s a time and a PLACE. She left the waitress that was working to pick up her slack at the bar as well as the restaurant. If you visit the restaurant for the awesome food….get a table!

I will be honest I had a bad experience, but I had to give them another chance. Kaitlyn was our server and she most definitely deserved a raise and a promotion to higher management. She has changed my previous review in to a negative into a positive. We only go if Kaitlyn is working. As her customer service and attention to personal space is top notch.

Experience was during around 2 pm Saturday.
The space was clean. Aside from that, I can’t say anything positive.
Bartender/server ignored me twice… initial setting then after the menus…. was more engaged in watching what was on the ion tv channel which was obnoxiously loud…. I had to make it obvious I was wanting served… (there was 3 tables already eating and that was it), appeared to have 3 staff up front handling that so I’m not trying to exaggerate the scenario.
She had to ask co worker to get another co worker to answer my question then that employee had to look it up on their phone.
Seaweed salad had 3 to 4 bites off chopsticks.. the rest was filed with lettuce…
Ordered 2 rolls… they were room temp, texture was not good… hyvee has better quality sushi, needless to say I didn’t finish them
Previous reviews and photos looked positive, however I cannot agree.

Huge shout out to Wasabi Johnston! My daughter wanted to go there for sushi for her bday dinner last night. I called ahead and asked if we could bring in a cake, etc... they were MORE than accommodating. They said whatever we needed! They kept it a secret until we finished our dinner. Brought out the cake, lit the candles, provided extra plates, a knife to cut it and were SO kind. Thank you guys all SO much! My daughter was thrilled (and embarrassed). Excellent dinner too!

Great food every time. Seemed a little understaffed, which Sunday lunch time is slower, or it may have been a new server. Sitting next to a speaker so the music was loud. Great food every time - great leftovers too!

Wasabi has done a good job at standardizing its brand, this is consistent with the other ones I've visited. Nice to be able to eat outside in the summer, too.
