Huge shout out to Wasabi Johnston! My daughter wanted to go there for sushi for her bday dinner last night. I called ahead and asked if we could bring in a cake, etc... they were MORE than accommodating. They said whatever we needed! They kept it a secret until we finished our dinner. Brought out the cake, lit the candles, provided extra plates, a knife to cut it and were SO kind. Thank you guys all SO much! My daughter was thrilled (and embarrassed). Excellent dinner too!

Great food every time. Seemed a little understaffed, which Sunday lunch time is slower, or it may have been a new server. Sitting next to a speaker so the music was loud. Great food every time - great leftovers too!

Wasabi has done a good job at standardizing its brand, this is consistent with the other ones I've visited. Nice to be able to eat outside in the summer, too.

Hour and a half for 5 people. Two dishes served wrong but no one wanted to wait longer to send them back, so we ate them anyway. Had to flag the waitress down for non-bar drinks, bar drinks, and boxes. Not a good 40th birthday dinner as hoped. No one checked if food was right, if anything was needed - only half the tables were full. 2nd time at this location, thought first time was a 'fluke' - it was not.
I'm always shocked by how good the food here is. It is an amazing establishment, and is by far the best sushi place in Iowa.

It's pretty expected that when a sushi place says crab they're lying and it's actually surimi. But I have NEVER seen a place advertise snow crab that is actually just surimi.
