Stopped by yesterday while visiting my aunt that lives 45min from there. She hyped it up by saying they made nothing but home made cheese. I think the only “home made cheese” was the curds and that’s it. A gallon of milk was already spoiled with an expiration date of the next day. They do have Neat and cute little souvenir
I was in town for a job and as I was leaving I saw a gigantic sign for "cheese curds" so, of course, I stopped. It's like an old-fashioned grocery store with a bit of old-school production machinery sprinkled throughout. After sampling a few things, I bought a bag of cheese curds and some ice cream. I've been visiting the Kalona Creamery over many decades. It's evolved over the years and keeps getting better. In addition to their own wonderful selection of cheese and dairy products, they have a great selection of local foods. In creating partnerships with local producers, they are empowering the community. An example is their Mocha Cold Brew made with Capanna Cold Brew and Kalona Supernatural Whole Milk. Very delicious.
