“My morning is not complete without stopping here to get my daily dose of friendly service, smiles as I walk through the door and delicious tea bombs to give me the boost I need! Thank you foe coming into our community and making a difference.”
“This place is the best! Their baked goods and breads are top notch. Every time I have been there, the store was beautifully decorated. I highly recommend stopping by to anyone who is nearby!”
“I've attended several horse and tack auctions. Very efficiently run. Getting a bidding number, and paying for the items you purchased are done as quickly as possible.”
“Our favorite local coffee place!! We’ve been coming here for a decade and it’s still a favorite. It also has a cute play area for kids.Dietary restrictions: A variety of milk alternativesParking: Sometimes you have to walk about a block or more on busy Saturdays but literally every other day of the week it’s easy to find parking.Kid-friendliness: Indoor play area”
“So delicious!!! I had the garlic chicken and my wife tried the rack of lamb and was over the moon!! We also got the chocolate cake and lemon cake to go. The dessert itself is worth the trip.”
“The food was great and the service was pretty quick. They have nice pictures on the walls and they play good music. There is this red salsa at the salsa bar that they have, everyone should try it!”
“There's nothing better than ice cream while chatting on a street corner! I never know who I get to chat with while in line. My favorite combination is the green apple ice cream with caramel and nuts-it's the perfect salty, sweet, with a hint of sour.”
“The fried mushrooms and ranch are delicious! I also enjoy the pork tenderloin and patty melt. They make orders fresh, so be prepared to enjoy chatting with other patrons and locals while you wait.”
“My family and I had lunch and we were beyond impressed, the employees were helpful and kind and the food was amazing, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend!!!”
“Good food and drink spot in Kalona! In the words of my friend: "There's a few restaurants and the brewery... the brewery is good." Upon arrival, we saw the place was nearly empty and requested a table a bit of distance away from others as one of our group members is immunosupressant. The younger hostess got frustrated with us quickly and almost made us want to leave. SERVICE: 5/5 We opted for a spot at the bar - since it was basically empty - and this saved our experience. The bartender (and our server) was extremely kind and fun, as well as the other woman working that evening. We loved connecting and chatting with them! DRINKS: 5/5 I got a root beer on tap, and the rest of our group got flights. They loved their beers - some cool nitro, IPAs, barrel aged, coffee stout, and more. Honestly really impressive options for Kalona! One of the servers even showed us her favorite - mixing the cider with their sour. FOOD: 4/5 For food, our crew enjoyed the pork tenderloin sandwich and black and bleu burger. Unfortunately, the stir fry rice was too mushy and overdone. AMBIANCE: 4/5 Cozy vibes, but the seating arrangements are a bit funny - there's a large space on one side with no seating, and you can't eat at the sofas.”
““They forgot to cut my pizza, and it look bad. We had to cut the pizza ourselves smh. Them cookies do be smackin though.” I got confused whether this was at Washington or Kalona. Turns out this was in Washington. Sorry about that.”
“It’s impossible to have anything bad here. Excellent pizza, garlic bread, pasta, you name it. I’ve yet to have something I didn’t like here. The owner Randy is fun to talk to and his place as of this date is the only bar in Wellman with beer on tap.The interior is nice with an Italian style to it. Everything is clean and I’ve gotten to know some of the staff there. It’s got a large tv to watch sports. There’s also an ice cream shop there as well. Definitely the place to go to if you’re in Wellman. Be sure to bring cash or check, as he doesn’t take credit cards here.”
“Cute small town coffee shop with plenty of space. They also have a small store area with repurposed decorations. You should stop in here if passing through. The town also has some kind of Star Trek vibe.”
“This is a hidden gem of a place! It's very unassuming from the outside. Family friendly small town bar and grill at it's finest! Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. Honestly it's even worth a trip if you're not in the area!Kid-friendliness: High chairs, friendly staff, and family specials!”
“Ate there for the first time today and was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back to try the other things as well. Great food Great service Nice atmosphere”
“Good Mexican food for Iowa. The service was a little slow as waiter never came back and checked on us after the food was delivered.Kid-friendliness: Good kid menu”
“Older building,, but very clean and nice. Cook was to perfection.we ordered breakfast and Homemade PIE. HAHAHAVERY good and not very much moneyParking: Everything is kinda on a angle, gravel, asphalt mix. Didn't seem to be a problem for anyone.looks like drive up curb side pickup was available”
“Another family owned jem. Lots of fun food, great fries and a nice (but little) town. Check out the breaded tender loin below!!! Now that's a meal in itself!!Don't forget to hit the Star Trek museum if you're a Star Trek fan.”
“This bakery has such a wonderful selection of Amish and Mennonite fresh baked goods as well as many other items. The caramel pecan rolls are so amazing. The strawberry (or maybe it’s raspberry?) angel food cake is also rock star level delicious! They have jams, jellies, homemade bread, noodles, and a variety of preserved fruits and vegetables. They carry handcrafted wooden items and a wide variety of various retail souvenirs. The ladies tending the store were very helpful and quite pleasant. This bakery is easy to find and has plenty of ample parking.”
