We have loved the Baggio's Italian Restaurant in Knoxville and are glad that they have opened a new one in Newton. The menu is the same and it is excellent. The Italian fare is genuine, excellent in quality, and well-presented. Given that they have only been open a week, they seem to have their act together. Cute restaurant located downtown. The front lobby is plastered with large white hand written signs. Not a very classy look. I noted there are these white signs everywhere- even in the bathroom. They should be removed.The service is excellent and a very friendly staff. The food was good but a bit bland. Nicely prepared and a generous portions. One item is the napkin that came with the silverware is like tissue paper. Has to be the cheapest possible - McDonald's has much better....
Went in with a party of 5. Everyone ordered something different and we got an appetizer order of Calamari and Stuffed Mushrooms. Everything was excellent! Can't wait to go back and try other items off the menu.Most of the sauces theybise are homemade, along with the desserts.
