We were on a Driftless drive and got hungry. The Buck Stops Here was rated well; love the name, and I actually wrote a poem with that same title after the last election. Anyway, my story begins and ends with one thing: Dill Pickle Cole Slaw. When I get to a diner, I usually read the menu of sides first. I had to find a way to get that Slaw. There was a “Buckwich” sandwich: pulled pork topped with Dill Pickle Slaw. But then there was the DW Tasty Tendy: a tenderloin with slaw...
My date had a smashburger he said was above average and I had today’s special, a big messy Reuben that was very good. Coffee was average. Service fast even though they were busy at 11 a.m. and got busier.
Owen is the best! We hired his team to do catering for our daughter & son-in-law's casual wedding reception. They requested taco bar and Owen hit it out of the park. It was all absolutely delicious -- chicken, beef, black beans, rice, pico, plus all the toppings! We even had him sneak in a few hot dogs. Our guests all loved the food, and we've enjoyed some leftovers.
