“Staying in Oskaloosa for a couple of nights for work and really glad I popped into the Rock Island Tap for a beer (OK, two) after dinner. Tip and Paige are great hosts - friendly and very knowledgeable about their extensive beer menu. Some bars aren't very "old guy friendly," but this one had a very good mix of patrons and this old patron felt right at home - especially enjoyed the retro Hamm's beer signs on the wall...!”

The food was very good, served hot and in good time considering how busy they were. (Family weekend was going on for the local university).
Our waitress Emily made contact with us soon after we were seated and done a great job checking on us throughout the meal.

“We have had great experiences and food at Liberty Kitchen in the past. On Friday, January 21st as a group of five we visited for a celebration. We were advised that there was a 45 minute wait and we could have drinks in the bar. Post the wait time, we checked for updates and were continuously advised ten more minutes. During this time many diners left and there were many open tables, yet we continued to wait. On being seated at the table, we were advised that many items on the menu were no longer available as they were “out of them”. The waitress kept bringing more bread during another wait for food. The food when it arrived was mediocre at best, not warm and I would not recommend the seafood pasta to anyone. The seafood was over cooked and the watery broth sauce was like dirty dishwater and tasted worse. They were either short of staff or staff were not trained to communicate with customers and the food was not worth a five minute wait. We will be giving this place a miss until we hear they have returned to their previous standards. Such a shame.”

“The ladies in here are always so cheerful and helpful! They can make almost any of their drinks iced, it's a great place to get a COLD drink on these hot summer days. I also like that their drinks don't seem guite so sweet and syrupy as some places I've been but if you want more syrup, they'll bump it up!”

Food was decent, might have been our choices as other dishes seen looked good. my negative review is based on the fact that I handed the waitress the folder with the ticket and my card. 10 mins passed and she didn't come back. I watched her take other orders etc. When I asked her for my card- " what, you don't have it?" over 10 mins later her and 3 others also could not locate it. It was finally found after they asked me several more time if I was sure I didn't have it. *edit they did reach out a few hours later and adjusted my bill*”

“Pizza is hands down the best I've ever had! Gyro was amazing. Don't ever order a cheeseburger from here though, it is extremely processed and comes with absolutely no toppings.... since when does a cheeseburger come without at least pickle?? Nope, no topping, and tastes terrible! The service was not the greatest, asked for mustard 3 times before finally getting it. Overall, I would give it a 4.2”

“What an amazing experience. Our company Christmas Party was held here with 14 of us total. To start things off we were 45 minutes late which they treated us with grace when we walked in. Noah our server was tremendous. Very attentive and we never felt ignored. The food, my goodness, is amazing. One of the best culinary experiences I have ever had. We all enjoyed the steaks among all the other creative dishes. Thank you to the amazing staff for a memorable meal. 10/10 will be back!”
