BEST Mexican west of the Mississippi. Drove 5 hours down from Minnesota to experience the charming town of Lenox, Iowa. After the decently long drive, we all were ready to eat. El Guero popped up as a suggestion so we got in our car and scurried on in. Walking in, El Guero had an astonishing photo wall with a yellow LED light that shines bright that caught my eye. Sitting down, we were presented with FREE chips and salsa (have not seen this accommodation in YEARS). Beers were cold. Guac was fresh. Enchiladas were spicy. Left full, refreshed, and ready to continue my weekend in Iowa.

I have been here twice and had a great experience both times. The food was excellent and service was perfect. I will be visiting again when in the area and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Terrible service, They completely ignored our extra comments, freezing, soggy food, excuses for late food, sat for 2 hours, took 30 minutes to get our drinks, and got neglected and they served other parties before us.

I love their unique take on traditional Mexican cuisine. Definitely full of local, hometown flare with local sports heroes, like Spencer Brown of the Buffalo Bills, jerseys and other memorabilia throughout the restaurant. A fun mix of Mexican food and sports!
