Nice tavern in a nice little town in Iowa! Friendly folks and just a nice pleasant place To stop for a meal or drink with friends. I had a ham sandwich with fries. Nice thick slice of ham. Grilled with cheese. Extremely tasty! Fries were crinkle cut and deep fried to perfection. Wow, a tavern that actually recycle their fryer oil!

My wife had a ribeye steak and I had broiled cod we both had baked potatoes and the salad bar, you had better come early on Friday night. The place was packed with diners.

I've been to the Luana Tavern three times over the last six months. The food is decent but the wait staff is terrible. They definitely cater to their local clientele and make everyone else feel like an outsider. Questions about the menu have been met with curt responses. Small talk was only for regular customers. My last visit was on a Friday night. I was by myself and sat at the bar. I believe I offended the waitress by asking if they had any ipa beer. Her response was no, they have "regular beer." I ordered a burger. The place was about half full. 45 minutes later my burger arrived. No comment from the waitress. This place is close to my sister's cabin, but I'll be heading to Lids in Waukon for a burger.
