We loved staying at The Decker Hotel! The room was so nice, clean and comfortable. There was history everywhere you look. I'm making reservations to stay there again right now. 😁
The location was perfect for our purpose...by the state park and fabulous breweries.
I can imagine this was an amazing hotel in it's day. Beautiful staircase, gorgeous brick and amazing woodwork. The room was fine. Bed comfy, water hot. No frills.
It seems to be undergoing restorations. The restaurant and bar are closed, which is unfortunate.

Beautiful place and quiet, this is my first time in Maquoketa and this place is a gem. I love how they've kept the older look and feel of the place. Staff are kind and accommodating, I haven't gone down to the cave downstairs, but if it's anything like the rest of the hotel, I feel that it's just as good. I'm completely enchanted by this place, a true jewel in this town. I hope to stay again soon.
