Stopped at this place with my daughter. We had never been here. I ordered 2 parfaits. It was ice cream, sponge cake and strawberry purée. It’s about the size of a medium drink. For 2 it was 20.00. I had sticker shock. We paid and left, they were ok. Just don’t think it’s for me. But if you want ice cream it’s ok.
I think the banana split could use some nuts but it's all 100% Iowan food to the core, and I go as far to say, better than the old Maid-rite on the corner, better than Center Point Jonesy's, and the cheese fries are better than Iowa state fair fries. I was pretty young when I grew up with all of these classic Iowan flavors, but Barker's IS the flavor of my whole childhood and I'm glad I can have it again, exactly like it was.
