Absolutely the best gyro in iowa! Lots of cilantro. Plenty of gyro meat. Tops the gyros at the fairs in the state. Very satisfied. The gyro at Arby’s is a poor substitute.

We recently went to New York Gyro for the first time. I want to share that my gyro was probably the best I have ever had. The meat was tender. The sauce was perfect! And the pita was fresh. The herbs mixed with the lettuce were a delicious touch. And don’t get me started on the baklava! Scrumptious! We will definitely be back.

A good food place that just popped up out of nowhere. Good comfort fast food. I love the Catfish dinners!Edited:It's been 6yrs since I placed that review. I am editing because I went to New York Gyro to pick up my favorite catfish dinner.I must say that when I got home to eat the food i just paid $16 for, it turns out that the fish was NOT CATFISH!! I don't know what the fish was, but it was VERY soft like and mushy on the inside. Catfish is usually a dense piece of fish when cooked. This fish was very light, and the crust was very hard. I tore it open to find that the fish was TRANSLUCENT and not flaky and white like catfish should be. This is the second time I have run into this type of fish in a restaurant. I know my catfish from ANY other fish I have eaten, and this was not CATFISH!! This is a cheap version of catfish that restaurants are buying from vendors and selling for high prices. I know my fish. I will not be ordering that again.
