i normally do not post anything like this… but me and my boyfriend went in to applebees tonight. we were sat and the waitress (emma) didn’t great us for the first 15 minutes. when she did we ordered water, and then just ordered a 2 for $25 chicken parm fettuccinex2 and buffalo boneless wings as the app. she took our order and it took another 10 minutes for our water.. the people in the booth next to us got their drinks, their apps, and food all in this time frame and they sat 10 minutes after us. (they had another server so it was a different section she looked like she was doing a great job. they had their drinks and apps before we even got our waters.) i’ve waited tables in the past for years so i was trying to be patient i get it things happen. after almost 40 minutes w no apps and just waiting the waitress (emma) walks us over Broccoli fettuccines. we looked at her and said “we ordered the chicken parm on the 2 for $25, and we haven’t gotten our wings yet.” and she was like oh sorry and looked at her book, and walked away.. we just got up and left bc we didn’t wanna wait another 40 minutes for wings and pasta and barely being talked too. i waited tables for abt 7 years of my life, and this was ridiculous. it wasn’t even busy.

Steak was over cooked, broccoli was undercooked and they didn’t give me a copy of my receipt, took forever to get food and it was cold.

Our service person was fantastic. The food, not so much. My husband ordered chicken Alfredo. It was dry. My steak was stringy and tough, and the potatoes tasted like they were in the warmer too long.

One of the best places to sit down and eat in Marshalltown. Their steak is great and I LOVE the garlic mashed potatoes!

Kid-friendliness: Yes, they are kid friendly and have crayons and a kid's menu for them to color.

The place looks clean but is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE, I found several pieces of hair and lint in my food, idk what the cooks are doing but it’s definitely not wearing hairnets or following health policy. Not to mention the horrible smell and wait time. As a lover of Applebees this place is completely horrid I would never recommend this location.

I have never reviewed a restaurant but I have to say this was a terrible experience. The restaurant was not busy. We had a group of 6. The first problem was after we placed our orders the waitress returned to tell us 3 of the items were not available. So we had 3 people scrambling to pick other things. We saw people that came in after us have their orders taken, received their food and leave while we waited. When we received our food it was not even close to warm. The steak was overdone as were the burgers and fries. Our waitress was doing her best but was visibly upset when she asked how our meal was and we did complain but told her we would just eat as we had been waiting so long. We did tip her as it was not her fault. In short, the waitress was good and the food was the worst I have ever eaten at a restaurant.

My wife and I went for a little valentine lunch a little after 12pm. Wasn't horribly busy. Got seated as soon as we got there. Ordered drinks waited til our server came back 30 min later to take our order. Then another 30 min for food to come out. At that time not a big deal. Then our appetizers came out mont sticks and pretzels burnt. I mean rock hard and I'm not even sure how to describe the pretzels as the dark shriveled and probably cooked an hour earlier that looked liked cooked sausage links. Our burgers came out 3 min later cold and burnt. This is the nicest I can be right now. When the server finally came back I asked is the apps suppose to look like that? He said no they look like they are burnt. He asked if still wanted them and I said no take them back. And please just bring the check this just not worth it. He did ask if I would like to talk to a manager but at that point my wife and I were done and just wanted to leave. It could have been just a random once incident but while waiting for our receipt I had seen 3 plates go back to the kitchen for burnt food. We have not eaten here in acouple of years and it will be definitely a couple of years before we do again.

I've looked the other way plenty of times with this Applebee's. Drove 35 mi to eat there tonight to be told cash only, had a gift card couldn't use that either. Terribly run store.

I ordered the nachos with no guacamole and no jalapenos. When I got my nachos, there was barely toppings on it. It don't have any sour cream on it too. The chips was salty and the meat looked like it was cooked too long. In the past when I ordered the nachos, I never have a problem with it until tonight. I was disappointed.
