The food was well worth every cent. So far in my hunt for the best Reubon, The Flying Elbow has taken the lead. Loved everything!”

My absolute favorite is the Napoli pasta- I get it with extra mushrooms and it really hits the spot. The strawberry cheesecake and baklava are to die for! Why are their french fries so good? “I am glad I decided to try Taylor’s Maid-Rite while I was in town from Dallas, Texas. I am prone to gravitate to small local eateries....and it is evident this is a gathering place for locals. If you are looking for AMAZING food, EXCELLENT service, and a GREAT relaxing atmosphere... Taylor’s Maid-Rite is worth checking out!! It is definitely on my "go back" list when I'm in the Marshalltown, Iowa area again!!”

“I ordered the jasmine tea, sushi/sashimi platter with miso soup and a spicy yellow fin roll. The sashimi was really good. The sushi rice however tasted like it was not seasoned very much. Instead they just used the starch they didn't finish washing off to stick it together. The miso soup was lacking flavor from the broth. But overall the service was fantastic. They were very polite and the food we ordered came fresh and fast. My wife ordered shrimp lo mein. The noodles were cooked just fine and the seasoning was good. But there was one weird thing. It tasted like they velveted the shrimp. If shrimp is cooked properly, you don't need to velvet them. Remember C is cooked O is overcooked. ? But I would eat there again considering it's hard to find decent sashimi near me. If you're in Marshalltown, give it a try.”

“I stopped at Lara’s yesterday for the first time, and was greeted with wonderful smells and beautiful smiles! The staff was very, very kind. I told one of the girls I’d never been in before, and she proceeded to show me everything on display. All of the yummy baked goods and pastries are huge, and the prices are very very reasonable! I left with 7 treats and only paid $9.50. Awesome quality, astounding service, a joy to have in Marshalltown!”

“My husband and I love boutique inns, and since our birthdays were on either side of our nieces wedding last weekend, we chose the Tremont.

The owners are very gracious, and very honest. The flight of stairs up to the rooms is steep, and I have knee issues, but there are handrails on both sides and since there were never crowds of people entering or leaving at the same time, it was fine.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The bathrooms are modern and they supply high quality, sustainable bath products. (We were upgraded to a king room, which was super sweet.) The bed was firmer than I’m used to, but the pillows were so great that I slept well every night.

We ate at Tremont on Main our first night, arriving just before they closed the kitchen. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable.

We had breakfast at the Tremont Grille most of the days we were in town. Super convenient to get my morning espresso fix and again, the staff was awesome. They even made us breakfast even though we arrived later than their typical hours.

Both restaurants feature jazz and Great American Songbook background music, which is very relaxing.

I’m a huge proponent of “think global, buy local” and was so happy to support a local business.

“When this store first opened, I did not like it as much as the older Little Caesar's in the K-mart. It seemed like they skimped a bit on the sauce and cheese. After the K-mart closed, this store is the only option so I would still occasionally get pizzas there, but never with much enthusiasm.Fortunately, this store has really seemed to turn around! The last few orders I have placed, always for a custom pizza and not a hot-n-ready pizza, have been excellent.Keep making the pizzas great and I will keep coming back for more! Thanks!”

“Authentic Mexican in Iowa? Who would have guessed! We live in Texas, where good street tacos are prized. Maria's are as good as any I've had at home or in Mexico City. The posole was flavorful, and husband said the burrito was five star. Homemade horchata was best I've had anywhere. Every time we come to Marshalltown for family, Maria's is a must stop. Don't expect a fancy restaurant. It's window service from an old house, and you eat at picnic tables on the enclosed front porch or outside. But every Texan knows the best Mexican food comes from a hole-in-the-wall joint.”

“Ordered 3 regular tenderloin meals in the drive thru.1 car was in front of us. Don't know what they ordered but it took awhile. All that aside,I knew it would take a while to prepare our order. I was prepared for a mediocre lunch. Dairy queens version of the tenderloin is worth the visit. The bread compliments the pork tenderloin and condiments. Everything was fresh and well worth the wait.”

“I dined here years ago one time, & this was my 2nd visit. I am following a keto plan, & was able to have the Legend's burger with no bun, well done, with a condiment cup of dill pickles, & broccoli instead of fries. It fell within my plan & was delicious. Our waitress Hannah was excellent, & very kind. 5⭐️
My only issue was that the bathroom door lock/doorknob is broken, so hopefully they'll change the knob soon.

They also put it in a to go box because no one wants that! No other place has ever done that and i appreciate that!!!

“The concrete mixer is made differently in Wisconsin then I'n other branches out of the state: it's a lot more creamy I think its because it has more eggs in it which is more faithful to the original Wisconsin custard. The service and atmosphere was the same as other Culver's. This is a non-formal walk-in restaurant. A good place to take your family after, after school activities.
