If I could give this place a 6 star review, I would. Staff was amazing, food was amazing, drinks were delivered fast even though it was super busy. Even the bathrooms were a 6 star!! Needless to say, my whole family will be back again. Thank you for the fun family atmosphere in Marshalltown.
On a girls’ weekend to Marshalltown, we found Tannin while searching online and decided to try it. When first walking in, the decor and atmosphere is cool and welcoming. Tannin Wine Bar & Craft Beer is a great spot with tasty food, good vibes, and attractive boards. The live band creates a lively atmosphere, and the owners are friendly and welcoming. Visitors enjoy the champagne Volleraux, which is a favorite among guests. The wine list offers a good variety, and the owners give helpful suggestions. The Fig & Pig dish is made with pride and passion, and the cheesy sandwich is very cheesy and delicious. The cheese boards are said to be better than those at a well-known cheese place in Des Moines. The environment is quiet enough for intimate conversations but becomes lively during trivia nights. The decor includes a vertical flower wall, especially nice in the summer. The space is beautiful to sit and relax with a drink, and the Diva Bread is highly recommended. The beer is always served cold, and the drink selection is impressive, including watermelon wine spritzer from a can. The place often features musicians playing 60's, 70's, and 80's songs, adding to the fun atmosphere. Many guests seem to be regulars, and overall, it’s a place where visitors have a very enjoyable time and plan to return.
