“Really tasty pork tamales, spicy but not so spicy that it kills the flavor. Iced tea is real brewed tea, not packaged. Husband had steak street tacos and they were authentic. The refried beans are tender and reminded me of the best Tex-Mex beans I grew up on in Texas. The spanish rice is cooked to perfection as well. Guacamole side was tasty and great texture. Chips warm and delicately crisp, salsa very good and on the mild side but I’m certain our waiter would have provided a spicier one had we asked. Definitely recommend.“

“I can't say how proud I am of these people. We returned from vacation this morning after missing the tornado. They were not charging for food tonight but taking free will donations as they have been feeding the town after the disaster. Of coarse I gave a generous donation because not only do they have the best burritos I have ever had, they are the nicest people and we want to make sure they are in business for years to come. Bravo guys and we will continue to support you 1 to 3 times a week, but always our Friday night staple.“

“Authentic Mexican in Iowa? Who would have guessed! We live in Texas, where good street tacos are prized. Maria's are as good as any I've had at home or in Mexico City. The posole was flavorful, and husband said the burrito was five star. Homemade horchata was best I've had anywhere. Every time we come to Marshalltown for family, Maria's is a must stop. Don't expect a fancy restaurant. It's window service from an old house, and you eat at picnic tables on the enclosed front porch or outside. But every Texan knows the best Mexican food comes from a hole-in-the-wall joint.“

“Good place to go to have consistently good Mexican food. Large menu with something to please everyone. The mixed drinks are pretty good, they claim the best margarita in Iowa, but that may be debatable.Good service and food, worth a shot if you want Mexican.“

“I think it was delicious I think there was a lot of food I wish I could have had the extra food to somebody that needed it so much food but the service Elizabeth was phenomenal she's amazing her kids are beautiful or two daughters I thought were twins very good personality and that's what we need today and these restaurants especially if you got to get past bad food but these people's food was delicious“
