“Authentic Mexican in Iowa? Who would have guessed! We live in Texas, where good street tacos are prized. Maria's are as good as any I've had at home or in Mexico City. The posole was flavorful, and husband said the burrito was five star. Homemade horchata was best I've had anywhere. Every time we come to Marshalltown for family, Maria's is a must stop. Don't expect a fancy restaurant. It's window service from an old house, and you eat at picnic tables on the enclosed front porch or outside. But every Texan knows the best Mexican food comes from a hole-in-the-wall joint.“

“I can't say how proud I am of these people. We returned from vacation this morning after missing the tornado. They were not charging for food tonight but taking free will donations as they have been feeding the town after the disaster. Of coarse I gave a generous donation because not only do they have the best burritos I have ever had, they are the nicest people and we want to make sure they are in business for years to come. Bravo guys and we will continue to support you 1 to 3 times a week, but always our Friday night staple.“

“Honestly I probably haven't had this for 20 years and it hit the spot. If I had to compare between Taco Bell and Taco John's I would absolutely choose Taco John's. It's got an extra spice in the meat which gives a good after bite. They load it with extra condiments, they are not skimpy. Try the frizz Sprite or the Sprite frizz, it's just a great thing to take a sip after. If you've already eaten a taco. They are always ready to treat you well and serve you well. This service is quick and efficient. Obviously I'm not a huge fan of eating inside a restaurant, but I am a huge fan of and being able to take something home and know that when I open it it's going to look and taste delicious. I would recommend to anyone, price is fair. I'm sure there are lots of people that will tell you. Taco Bell is superior, but the meat is just not . The meat at Taco John's is just a level above.“
