“A selfie today with my friend Miguel, owner of the La Cabana Mexican Restaurant in Newton. Pam and I have eaten at La Cabana since they first opened about 25 years ago. The Chili Colorado has always been my favorite, however, due to having gout and needing to watch my diet beef is no longer an option for me. I don't know why in the past I never thought of having chicken instead of beef with my colorado but that's changed forever now. If you like a little, maybe a bit more than than a little spicy, this dish is made for you. Nice spice heat without going overboard, along with a wonderful flavor, the chicken is incredibly tender and delicious, the mexican rice is great by itself or as I prefer, mixing some in with the chicken and the sauce. La Cabanas refried beans are epic, smooth and creamy, simply mouthwatering, just didn't want my meal to end.As you can clearly see from the last photo La Cabana wins my coveted cleaned plate award, actually licked plate award. This is an excellent Mexican Restaurant, serving mouthwatering delicious food along with great service, very much worth the drive, no matter where you live.I give them my highest recommendation and feel fortunate they are right here in Newton.“

“I love their taco bravo its a hard shell taco with a soft shell on the outside i have them add sour cream its the only thing i can eat that anit to spicy for me so time their beef is to spicy and hot thats when i tell them no sauce ,other then that its a good place to get a quick meal.Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menuParking: Plenty of parking space on the side of the building and in the backWheelchair accessibility: There are ramps and low sidewalks. They have a drive-thru for easy access.“
“I don’t usually leave reviews for fast food places but John that works at the window always gives excellent customer service each time, any other interaction with other associates is moderate but John is always on point.. Just wanted to shout him out!! He deserves a raise!!“
“Great restaurant for being in Iowa, the only problem with this restaurant is you might not be able to find parking in their lot at busy times. The parking lot is very small compared to the size of the building.Vegetarian options: They have a decent size selection of vegetarian options.Parking: There is limited parking as they only have a small lot.“
