“I live in Grimes but always drive over to this Panchero's location because it is night and day better than the Grimes location. It doesn't matter how long the line is, or how many online orders they also have to make, they are always fast and accurate. I'm constantly impressed by the quality of the food at this location and the service. I usually place online orders to go and have never had an issue with my order. I rarely write reviews but the Johnston Panchero's deserves it.“

“Stopped in for some cabeza and tripa tacos which were on point. They had a good amount of well cooked meat on soft tortillas (might have been flour?). Salsas are prepacked into little tubs and labeled by spiciness. They also gave us some legit tortilla chips.“

“El Michoacano is one of the absolute best restaurants I have eaten at in Iowa. I spent over a decade in San Antonio and could not for many years after moving to Iowa, enjoy such authentic taste at a taqueria -until I discovered this restaurant by my son's invitation.
This is now my absolute favorite restaurant, the food is always served freshly prepared and hot, reasonably priced for such generous portions as well and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. The best part is not only the taste, cleanliness and service but there are wonderful vegan options on the menu as well. El Michoacano's is a must if you luv Latin food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“The food at Monterrey tastes good, and the service is certainly decent enough. The restaurant, like many chain Mexican restaurants, goes a bit over the top with 'decorations' that are just a little too stereotyped.

I got the chicken fajita this evening, and while good, the amount of chicken in the mix was a bit low. I understand that it's the most expensive part of the meal, but there are several other Mexican places in town that have fajitas for the same price, or even cheaper, and that regularly give notably more chicken than they did.

Overall, while tasty, I felt the food was a bit expensive given how little meat was actually in the fajita mix.“

I considered the shredded chicken in the tacos to be very good. One person was into the chili relleno but not the beef enchilada. Pollo loco was the most enjoyed meal of the group. “Whatever cheese they use is absolutely amazing. That's one of the key factors to making a great tacowhether it's chicken, beef, or steak. Also, the tortillas they sell are amazing and go fantastic with their signature salsa, but that's the tacos, as for the burritos, I was not that big of a fan(i have not tried the nacho or enchiladas). The great thing about this place is that a lot of the food is really easy to grab, go, and eat, and it is indeed tasty. This is a weird situation where the burritos are cheaper and actually less filling than the tacos. I was not a fan of the sour cream coming in packets, instead of them being able to put it on the tacos themselves or just give me a side of what would seem like fresh sour cream. The service isn't bad, but it's not over the top, great either. The food does come out fairly fast, and they keep things simple, so you don't have too much to complain about. I really like the taco shop because it's not too pricey, it's simple (so good for children), and as it says in the name, it's tasty!
