I usually go in here to have a sandwich until I seen them cross contaminate food they used the same knife they used to cut a seafood salad sandwich and used it to cut my cold sandwich as if I’m not allergic to seafood and any other ingredient used such as mustard. I was saddened by this I will not go and get a sandwich from SubCity again.

When you look at it from the outside it looks not the best, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Sub city is delicious. Fresh cut meat, cheese, and veggies. These sandwiches are giant and are cheaper than subway or jimmy johns. I recommend going there if you are really hungry!

The sub sandwiches are delicious and stacked with all your favorite ingredients. Best deli in the Marshalltown area. It is even better now that pastrami is on the menu. Hours are somewhat limited so check the hours online before you go. Bring a big appetite. Prices are really good.Bring cash or a local check because they do not take cards.
Parking: Parking in downtown Marshalltown has been difficult for decades. Parrallel parking on the street. There are free lots however you may have to walk a little bit.

I forgot pics, but I love this place. I moved here last year and it's one of my favorite sandwich shops. Everything is super tasty, although I didn't dig the cheeseburger chowder. It lacked seasoning. They have a seafood pasta that is out of this world, though. I've both dined in and ordered takeout. The inside is very clean and they have good vibey tunes playing.The takeout experience is really cool because they will cut your footlong into 4 pieces and ask if you will be eating half later. They take the "later" half, wrap it in plastic wrap, wrap it again in wax paper, and write the name on the sandwich with the word "later." This is genius. I went in there, got a cordon bleu. I ate the "now" half when I got home and didn't eat the "later" half till the next day. It was almost as fresh as they had just made it, and it sat in my fridge all night. I think that was my favorite part. Thanks for going the extra mile.Note to new customers: they don't take cards. Cash or local check only. But worth a stop at a local ATM.

This is without a doubt the finest eating experience available in Iowa. From the second you walk in the door you get the hospitality and the down home feel. The restaurant staff are beyond wonderful, the sandwiches are stacked and very reasonably priced. Homemade deserts are there to finish out your meal, fluff cookies and cakes. This restaurant is truly a part of the Marshslltown and Iowa culture. If it were closer I'd eat here twice a week with no problems. It is cash only so beware of that but it's well worth stopping at an ATM or bank.
Parking: There is a lot and a rear access door.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessable through the front sidewalk and a ramp in the rear.

As always, the food here is amazing! One of the great things about sub city is the freshness and the speed. The prices are good for the food you get. Only downside is that it's cash only, but there is an ATM in the store next door.
