My boyfriend and I were in the area for the Indycar race weekend in Newton. I’m glad I searched away from Newton and Des Moines! The Tremont Inn was a one-of-a-kind positive experience. The owner was very kind and welcoming. The room was very homey. Bed was comfortable, I slept like a log! I really enjoyed looking at the artwork in the hallways. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely book here again!
When parking for the hotel in the back I had to call to make sure I was in the right location. Signs for parking and for the back entrance would be more convenient. Once inside the back entrance there's no signs which way to go. I think i ended up in office space and found a cat. ? Once I found a person they were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was good. The blue cheese pasta is exceptional. Highly recommend. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and we slept...

The owners are very gracious, and very honest. The flight of stairs up to the rooms is steep, and I have knee issues, but there are handrails on both sides and since there were never crowds of people entering or leaving at the same time, it was fine.
