Food was delicious - I got the Kalbi short ribs. A couple of Spam options, which is to be expected for a Hawaiian restaurant. Came here with friends who have kids, the children enjoyed the food - the only downside is that with littles it ends up sounding very echo-y.

Drove out of our way to stop here for lunch due to the pictures and positive reviews. It did not disappoint! The employee was incredibly helpful with explaining the meals and helping us with recommendations. The food was fantastic (better than any other Hawaiian bbq we’ve had before). My 7 year old daughter was obsessed with the short ribs. Everything had so much flavor and was so fresh! Only thing I’m upset about is not having this closer to Des Moines!

Found this place on a Google search while visiting Mason City. What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up in quality food and service. The owner (and cook) was super. He is originally from Albania, very young and wants to make sure customers have a great experience. I had the fish katsu which was super flavorful. Loved the green salad and the cabbage served with the dish. Definitely want to come back if I am in the area again.

I've ordered from this location numerous times and I have to say the food is always delicious. Would highly recommend giving them a try, the Bulgogi Beef is amazing. Especially with a side of teriyaki sauce.

Stopped in for dinner while driving through Iowa with my parents. This was a lot different than what I was expecting. I probably would have rated lower, but my parents liked their food a lot more than I did. Firstly, this is located in a split building, the other side being a busy liquor store with some interesting clientele. Look for mass amounts of bright yellow and blue, and you've found the place.
There was only one person running the entire restaurant. It seemed strange, but he was the best part of the experience. Very accommodating and friendly. My parents were scared of trying a new cuisine, but they both seemed to enjoy their food. Excessive amounts of rice on the dishes. I got a poke bowl, and it was large, but just an insane amount of rice and very little sauce. I've had my fair share of poke, and based solely on that, I'd say 2/5 stars. Dad got a salmon dish, and mom got some fried chicken of some sort. They were both satisfied and a little less scared of trying something new afterward, although they had no basic for the dishes being accurate. We ate in as we were traveling, but if I had another option, I would not have done so. The place seemed very cold and uninviting, no salt or pepper, no fountain drinks, loud - even though we were the only ones there most of the time, and just all and all seemed like a front.

If your familiar with L & L then it is pretty comparable with the Chicken Katsu. The macaroni was good. Very good portion for the price. The atmosphere didn't have much. It is a very quiet place to enjoy a quick meal. I would like to try some of the other menu items next time.

Love the Vulcan!! The dumplings are sooooo goood - the tempura shrimp is delicious. The coconut shrimp is one of my favorite meals. I haven’t had a bad thing to eat here and the sauces they make are delicious!
