“I used to live in Mason city and now live 2.5hours away, but every time I go to Mason city I have to go to taco tico. Great food, great service, always busy, and responsible prices. I have been to lots of restaurants in my life and alot of restaurants have messed up my order, I have been to taco tico in Mason city plenty of times and they have never messed up on my order.”

“I love pasta Bella, but lately the pasta Bella salad is getting smaller and smaller. it use to fill the plate with to ato and cucumber on top now there is lettuce in the middle with tomato and cucumber on the side of the plate. pro a ly at least a third smaller but still the same price.”

“We were driving through from Waterloo to Minneapolis, stopped in Mason City to visit family and looked at Google maps for restaurants. Happy Donkey came up. Only one other table with customers. We were skeptical. Service was friendly, establishment was clean, food was delicious (donkey enchilada was my choice and couldn't have been happier)!! Worth stopping!! 5/5!!!”

“I live in Des Moines and will always travel up to Mason City for Grandma Sugar's. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful!! Their cupcakes are hands down the best! A lot of places will have a great crumb but the frosting is lacking or vice versa. But at Grandma Sugar's, their cupcakes are all around delicious!! Looking forward to trying their cookies next.”

“I absolutely adore Thai Bistro! Their Vietnamese brisket noodle soup is a must-try—it’s every bit as comforting and flavorful as you’d hope. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly, and they truly make you feel genuinely valued. The service is speedy without ever feeling rushed, and the vibe is just so peaceful and welcoming. I love visiting both as a customer and as a DoorDash driver. Highly recommend!”

“Enjoyed an afternoon at the Sports Page taking in a football game with my son. Food was great, service was better, and atmosphere was on point. He has sex and watched football and played all of the games they had to offer and thought it was great. We both enjoyed our time! We will be back.”

“They know how to treat customers! We were there recently near closing time and were still eating well after closing. We never felt like we were being rushed to leave as you would in many places. Someone was sweeping up, but he made sure he wasn't near our table. A pet peeve of mine is staff sweeping next to our table while we are eating. Our server took very good care of us with a smile on his face. The food was very good and the portions were large.”

“Popped in for some cocktails after having some initial difficulty finding (resides in the basement of the hotel which actually gives it a little bit of a speakeasy aesthetic). Drinks were amazing and enjoyed the conversation with the local server. Would definitely stop by again!”

Food may take a bit as the kitchen is 6 square feet but not only is it worth the wait, you'll pleasantly find yourself wanting to spend more time here. You won't want to leave. Would recommend.”

“Cook's cafe is a great place to eat with cheap prices and good service. Sometimes it takes some time to get your food but is well worth it. Most of the waitress are up beat and very attentive. They will have you floating before you leave. Will go back again”

“We had a huge group after a basketball game & the staff was absolutely incredible! The young man that was at the counter was so professional and acted so kind to each child and adult. We got there 30 minutes before they closed the dining area. (No other fast food restaurant is open in our area at that time to accommodate such a large group) They didn’t make us feel like a burden. “It is easier now to get into Wendy's on South Federal in Mason City. More of the road work is completed. Got a Dave's Triple and tried the new chicken tenders...both were great, fresh and hot. Staff was on top of it too.”

“I stopped by Apple Pie recently and had a really great experience thanks to Celeste. She was welcoming, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of. What stood out to me was that even while helping customers, she was constantly supporting her coworkers and making sure things were running smoothly.

You can tell she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about both customers and her team. Employees like Celeste are the reason people come back. Her positive attitude, leadership, and work ethic did not go unnoticed.

Apple Pie is fortunate to have someone like her, and based on what I saw during my visit, she definitely deserves a raise. Great employees are hard to find, and Celeste is clearly one of them.”
