We heard they make the best pizza in town. We stopped in for the first time and ordered our go-to pizza. Thin crust sausage, onion, and green olive. Was delicious and definitely recommend trying this place out for a great pizza. ?

A real gem with great staff, definite must-visit in McGregor.Shelly was a delight and treated us like royalty when we visited. We enjoyed just chatting with her, bur they have a great electronic dart board, digital juke box, and a couple pool tables, too.Drinks and beers are fairly priced, shots were a steal, and she knows several special shots she can treat you two. Don’t leave without trying her famous “Shellzone,” which is a quick and tasty calzone she makes to order for you. Perfect with a cold local beer washing it down.Check out the mural (painted by a drifter many, many decades earlier for room and board when the bar was also an inn), and a ton of nostalgic wall art found around the bar.There’s even a little cougar guarding the large flat screen TV, who gets gussied up with a toboggan cap on the winter. Need I say more? ?

It was so good to see Jades Riverqueen.We were welcome with open arms. There were 4 of us, and the locals moved their bar stools, so we had room to sit at the bar. If you're going through McGregor Iowa. Stop at Jades RiverQueen. Such a neat local bar.
