Wonderful experience!!! Bartender very engaging!!! Beers were good!!! Highly recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised by our lunch at The Old Man River. We had a table of 8 and were there during lunch and although it took a little time to get our food it was worth the wait. Everything was delicious (highly recommended their huge burgers) and they have a lot of gluten free options. Our waiter was so nice and attentive to our table.

Our group of Wisconsin geocaching friends crossed the border to meet up for dinner. The atmosphere was very nice and we felt welcomed! My burger was very good. I also enjoyed their specialty beer - Bourbon Bay Honey. While we waited for the food, we all enjoyed a bowl of soup and delicious fresh bread.

It's a really neat old building with a cool view of downtown. Huge portions of home made food and cold drinks.

This place is great the atmosphere is amazing. I love the history of the place. My wife had the fish and chips she said it was the best fish she has had in a long time. I recommend the patty melt it was very good.

Great food with some of the best beer in the Midwest.

We've never wanted to not finish a flight of beers before. It was paid for so we chugged them and left. They weren't bad but they were not worth bragging about by any stretch. They kind of all tasted the same except the bourbon one. The bartender claimed the bourbon barrel aged beer was the number one selling beer in Iowa. If so, we'd probably have heard of it. Cash only, was okay but a little inconvenient. The atmosphere was great.

Went in with family and experienced probably the most disrespectful manager I have ever encountered. Called us "really stupid" for not making a reservation, although the restaurant was completely empty. I can understand frustration with a party of 10 as I work food service myself, but we would have never been upset if we were denied gracefully. Do better and treat people as people.

Seated ourselfs at bar. Service stated slow . But got food and drinks. Food was good but overpriced. Long time wait on second drink. People next to us very irritated with slow payment process. As we were also . Finally left cash with no tip tired for wait. We believe it was the owner , shout out to cooks and owners son?
