The place was full when we arrived and we sat at the counter. They were short-handed and were not able to offer shakes, but the staff was very pleasant and friendly. We had burgers with tater tots. Everything was well prepared. This is my new go-to place when in Missouri Valley.
Slow service and they refused to do ice cream. Said they were busy but were just chilling behind the counter. Would have appreciated just being told no to ice cream instead of waiting 30min to not get ice cream.
I loved the old time vibe. I stumbled upon Penny's when I pulled off the interstate for some lunch. I spotted Penney's and decided to take a break from the fast food chains. I am glad that I did. Penny's is an old-time diner that serves breakfast all day, among other dishes. I had a Ruben Sandwich with a side salad and a cup of cream of Broccoli soup. The Ruben sandwich was excellent - loaded with meat. It took a while to get lunch as this is not fast food....
