This being the only bar & grill in a little town shouldn't fool you. It's still a great place to stop for a decent selection of drinks and better than average choices of food. The food is tasty without being pricey and the wait staff is friendly and fast. The interior is clean and spacious. No complaints here!

Stopped in last week on the way back to Illinois from Mayo Clinic for lunch. It had been a few years since we were last there (I guess it has changed hands since then). As a Volney kid in the '70's, I remember this place as the old East Side Pub (my parents would occasionally take us there for supper). Anyway, the wife & I both had the Beer Cheese Burger & we also had the cheese curds. All of it was phenomenal! Place was clean, barmaid (sorry I didn't get her name) was friendly & the food was even better than we expected. Monona is lucky to have a place with food this good. We'll be back again next week when we're in town.
