This place is very close to Red Rosa pizza and that says allot as Red Rossa was the best Neapolitan pizza in the area (Red Rosa is now Franka pizzeria and not nearly as good). Friendly staff but they only serve 12" pizzas so if your getting pizza to go this means you are getting numerous 12" pizzas (Red Rosa had 2 for Tuesdays). Worth the trip to Norwalk to try this place.

I had the margherita pizza, I came here with the intention of having authentic Neapolitan pizza. The pizza was okay, but it was lacking in areas. The pizza could have used some more basil, the bottom could have been cooked a little longer as it didn't have much color however still had remnants of a little burnt flour. The waitress mentioned that they were having trouble starting the fire earlier so I assume the oven had not gotten up to temp yet causing the top to cook faster than the bottom. The other issue was the edge of the crust, it was pretty doughy, and I don't mean it was undercooked. When the dough is stretched for traditional Neapolitan pizza, you push the gasses that have built up in the dough towards the edge of the pizza resulting in a light airy crust that is still soft inside, the crust I had was dense and chewy but not the good kind of chewy. I noticed the staff making the pizzas were pretty young, like high school age so it could be a skill issue. Neapolitan pizza is probably the hardest pizza to make after all and takes a lot of skill and technique to make and cook properly. The service was great and had great atmosphere, but It's hard for me to recommend the pizza considering what I got and the cost. I came on a Tuesday right after opening so I may come back at a busier time on the weekend to give it another shot.

Great service, and the food was high quality. Also, the cheeseballs taste like the ones I had as a child. Have been searching for this kind for a long time.

Food is wonderful and service is great. The only thing I can complain about is that it's really bright in there in the evenings. If they could dim the lights a little bit to make it easier on the eyes, it would be

We had a stellar experience here recently and decided to drive out of our way from Des Moines to bring a friend. As we parked and walked to the door, the three of us made eye contact with three staff members through the windows who were hanging out behind the bar, one of which ran to shut off the "Open" sign. 30 minutes before close. As I opened the door to ask if they were still seating, I was met with a "oooooh, we just closed our kitchen" (no apologies) and they were all smiles as we walked back to our vehicle. The treatment was really disheartening and we will likely not be back because of it. A total shame given how great the food and service was last time we were in. I'd advise the restaurant to update its hours of operation on Google and its social media accounts, and advise the general public of its early kitchen closure.

We were turned away at the door 30 minutes before closing. We were very disappointed, especially because we loved our first experience. So much so that we were introducing our friend to it. Probably will never come back due to employees giggling behind the bar when they told us that the kitchen just closed as we walked in.

Friendly and very welcoming. Speedy, attentive service and our pizza was served in about 15 minutes. Pyra Pizzeria will be my go to place for pizza from now on.
