We ate at Bubba Q’s tonight and it was slammed. We ended up sitting at the bar and the sweet lady running the bar was going back and forth making sure everyone was taken care of and kept checking on our food and was very apologetic for the wait. We didn’t mind as we knew they were busy. I wish I would have but I didn’t catch her name but she delivered some amazing service and I couldn’t be happier with her and the food tonight. 10/10 recommend

Food alright. The burnt ends weren’t really burnt ends, just kind of overcooked roast. The brisket was fine, but the real shining star was the Texas beef sausage- might be the best I’ve had in my life. Sides were terrific! John Deere corn and their signature beans were great! Decent price for the portions!

My family & friend were in Ottumwa riding RAGBRAI LI. Food & service were Great! LOVED the House salad. RICH with vegetables: good Mixed greens, carrot, radish, red/green bell pepper, tomato, two types onions & shredded cheese. Kudos to the Chef!

The food and service was very good as usual. What was unacceptable were the gnats flying around the table and into the food. We asked the server and the answer was the mall does not do a good job of addressing the issue so they appear to drift over from the mall.
That may be the case, can't say one way or the other. What I do know is we left our dishes uneaten as we were fighting off the gnats and it just got disgusting.
Doubt we return anytime soon. If they fix this issue, we will gladly come back.

Don’t get the burnt ends! It’s not burnt ends, it’s pot roast! You want burnt ends go to Texas. They are the only ones able and capable of making burnt ends. Key your server was great. Very attentive. John deer corn was a let down, it’s like the cilantro had sat out for days and lost all flavor. The loaded potato was great. The BBQ Chef Salad was delicious. The steak cut like leather would not recommend. They are located in an abandoned mall, very run down.

I came in to Bubba-Q’s for dinner with my family on a holiday weekend. We didn’t have to wait for a table and the service was fairly speedy.
Overall the food is pretty decent, I very much enjoyed my meal and my drink! However, what I didn’t enjoy was the amount of nats and little bugs flying around. Some of them landed in my food and my drink, which made me not want to finish my meal.
I totally understand that it’s summertime and bugs are inevitable. However it was a little off putting to have all those bugs land in my food and drink
