DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! I went there for lunch and order the Orange Chicken. The rice had a skunky smell and taste to it. The chicken was soggy breading, with extremely chewy chicken, and the orange sauce was literally flavorless. Truly the worst I have ever eaten and it’s my go to Chinese food. The guy that brought it was very rude about it and a bit racial. He told me “many people like my orange chicken” “people tell me all time” “YOU KIND OF PEOPLE, don’t know what is good” “THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU”. What kind of establishment goes out of there way to insult you???? Then refusing to accept that the food was bad and arguing that we still have to pay for food that we didn’t eat. After going round and round he finally took it off and told us “YOU CAN’T COME BACK!”
When you go to a restaurant and your order is not good. You take two bites and it has a bad taste. You tell your server who happens to be the owner and he has the audacity to tell us that everyone around comes to his place to eat orange chicken, and that there is something wrong with us. Literally those are the words that came out of his mouth. How do you tell your customers that there’s something wrong with you, especially as an owner you should just apologize even ask for details of why you don’t like it or what’s wrong with it not argue with them and tell them that there’s something wrong with them because everybody else likes it.
We asked him to take it back and he just left it there then came back one more time to again. Tell us that everyone around comes just eat his orange chicken and again we told him that it was not how we have ever had orange chicken we have eaten or chicken every before and it has tasted fine but there’s just something wrong with this one.
I go to check out and the orange chicken is still on my bill. I told him that I wanted it removed as we did not eat it as it was not good and he continue to argue with me AND show me reviews about how his orange chicken is good. Because that ONE review is the game changer. And I wouldn’t write this review if I wasn’t so poorly mistreated by the owner himself telling me that I was wrong and I didn’t know what I was talking about. I am far from an expert BUT I have owned Chinese restaurant and I have learned how to cook a lot of different entrees. To have an establishment argue with the customer and talk down to them and tell them that they are wrong and they are not welcome just because they don’t like the food. What is wrong with people?????

This is one of the best places to eat in ottumwa! Staff is kind and helpful. and the food, it’s rich and flavorful and the noodles are soft and chewy. I got the brisket pho and the meat melts in your mouth. 12/10 will be coming again!
