don't ever apply or take classes at this school! they're money hungry people! you can't pay for each term with your financial aid you have to pay out of pocket for it. believe or not its true because that's how these crooks are screwing me over! and I now apparently owe them money because I didn't pay my fall term. well I couldn't. I couldn't use financial aid as an option. and then I had to tell federal financial aid the truth because they reported me and then said that I owe financial aid money because I requested a withdraw. well answer this question. can you blame me for withdrawing? don't come to this school. they want your money and as much of it as they can get. I won't pay them anything. they can forget about that happening. they will reward you financial aid so you can't use it.

I went to Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa from August 2016 to May of 2017 and this is my honest review of Indian Hills.

I went to Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa from August 2016 to May of 2017 and this is my honest review of Indian Hills. In a nutshell, it's a solid community college with some great features but also lacks certain qualities because of it's smaller size. Here are some pros and cons of going to Indian Hills. Pros: - Even though it's a community college, they have dorms, a cafeteria, a basketball team, a workout gym, and even a small number of clubs to join. They have somewhat of a community life and the "college experience" that many kids are looking for; although not as much as a bigger school. - There's some good programs to join, especially in the mechanical department. - Instead of two giant semesters, Indian Hills has a quarter schedule. This can be both a pro and a con. Because of the quarter schedule, you don't get summers off like you would at a traditional college. - There's a lot of international students that come to Indian Hills and live in the dorms. Cons: - Many of the cons and limitations of Indian Hills will be because of the fact that it's a small community college which is something that they can't help; just keep that in mind. - Even though Indian Hills does have somewhat of a community and social life, it's not always active and this is especially the case during the winter when kids start moving out of the dorms. Meeting people and being social won't be much of a problem during the fall when new kids start moving in for the first time but it will definitely be a problem in the winter as students start to move out of the dorms. Also because it's a smaller school, there won't be as many clubs to join and as many opportunities to meet people. Unless you find a solid group of people who are like you early on, you may wind up feeling pretty isolated in the long run. - Indian Hills is somewhat of a small town. It does have a Walmart and a movie theater but there isn't as much to do compared to living in a bigger city. If you wanted to go clubbing, you had to go to Iowa City which was 1 hour and 30 minutes away.

Indian Hills is a great place to go. They're willing to help you through the application process, applying for FAFSA, and will help you as much as possible if you need tutoring. The instructors are very personable and make the classes interesting.

The Indian Hills Community College dining hall is a great spot for creative events, good food and relaxed atmosphere! They host everything from fundraiser events for local charities to just daily meals for students. The cafeteria is also open to the public and has some very reasonable rates. The culinary team are always on point with dynamic and flavorful meals. This evening my wife and I attended a fundraiser for the college's foundation. You purchased your tickets, got to pick one, from hundreds, handcrafted bowl that tripped your trigger then proceed into the dining hall to have any and as much soup as you cared to eat. There were around 10 to choose from and you also got drinks and a dessert! Extremely creative and you get to keep your bowl! I've also attended a dinner and auction event for our local YMCA and they do an amazing job at creating a fun and exciting environment. So kudos to the IHCC culinary team. They can put on a spread that would put golden corral to shame or make Olive garden jealous!
