With a reservation our table was placed right in the entry way not outstanding so they did move us back a table but still had to wait and it sounded like we might have been the only reservation the majority were walk ins - our server went above and beyond to change our experience and food was outstanding but disappointed the only chicken dish was sold out along with the seabass - not surprising as they were less expensive on the menu - will we go back - sure but not in a rush

Service was great! The food was also delicious. We had the Bavarian pretzel for an appetizer. It’s huge and great! We also had the crab cakes which were perfect and came with a cold corn mix. The seasonal dessert pumpkin creme brûlée was delicious and was so cute! My only issue was the truffle fries. I was expecting a garlic parmesan truffle but they were more like seasoned fries cooked in truffle oil: they were good just not what I was expecting in my own mind! They did say they would update the description as there was no description on this menu item. The old fashions were smooth. Overall good experience!

Michelle & Co are fantastic. The service, hospitality and food are top notch. They were flexible with our large group and went above and beyond. On my next trip to southeast Iowa, I’ll be visiting Wissota chophouse.

Excellent food and service. A true highlight going to Ottumwa. Had the best meal ever in the 28 years I have been going back to visit. Don't let this place die....

Great place! Steak and chicken were amazing. Service was absolutely on par. Our waiter, David, was very attentive. The manager even stopped by to see how we were doing. When my husband told her he really enjoyed the salt with the butter and bread, she brought him out a small cup to go. Highly recommend this place!

The place advertises they have oysters and Oysters Rockefeller. Drove an hour twice to get Oysters on a Monday. They had zero oysters. The second time I did this, my server told me the oyster shipment comes in on Tuesdays and Fridays. She suggested I call ahead of time for availability of Oysters. I called today... Tuesday and they had 5 oysters. They suggested I call back daily for availability. Why can't they call me when they have what they advertise that they have? Service is OK. Nothing special.

Probably the best steaks you'll get in Ottumwa. We had: Mains: 5 Oz. Petite Filet ~ cooked perfectly, I had the addition of Bleu Cheese which was very good. 12 Oz. New York Strip ~ Nicely cooked & tasty. Sides: Crab Cakes, Corn relish / Cajun remoulade ~ crab cakes were good, but the corn relish & Cajun remoulade was just OK & didn't really do anything to make the dish more flavorful. This is a small dish, 2 small crab cakes & the garnish (that most people probably won't end up eating.) Truffle Macaroni & Cheese ~ this was the biggest let down. Needed to be cheesier with more sauce, and the pasta was barely seasoned so the whole thing was crying for salt. If the pasta water is salty enough, the pasta will absorb it and taste perfect. This one needs serious tweaking as it was just plain and very bland. Cocktails: Iowa Sunset ~ Grey Goose/Malibu/Bacardi/Santos/grenadine/blood orange/orange juice/ pineapple juice -- very good, but VERY sweet. Not a drink guys will care for. Galaxy Lemonade ~ McQueen and the Violet Fog Gin/lemonade/edible sparkles -- very good, but total girl's drink due to the iridescent glitter. Blackberry Lavender Mule ~ Titos Vodka/blackberry/lavender/ginger beer -- good, but pretty sweet. Guys probably won't like this. Overall on the specialty cocktails, they all seemed very sweet and geared more towards the ladies.
