We had such a great experience at Cranky Hanks! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and perfect for families. It’s not always easy to find a place that makes everyone feel comfortable, but they absolutely nailed it.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and genuinely enjoying our time. You can tell they really care about their customers, and that makes all the difference.

The cheesecake is just do yourself a favor and order it. Cranky Hank's Pizza Bank is a true hidden treasure in Shellsburg, Iowa. The pizza is absolutely incredible. Their creativity shines through in every menu item, especially with offerings like the Cheeseburger, Love of Greece and the Silent Alarm and add in the fact that the dough is made in-house. The scratch-made cheesecake was rich yet wonderfully light.
