This was my first trip to Sigourney and when we arrived we found out that a couple of the other spots we were thinking about eating at were closed on Mondays. The Copper Lantern was right on the corner of the square. It had a great small town feel as a bar and restaurant. Nice small town bar with a booming kitchen. This is a weekend hotspot with a classic Iowa bar menu with a few surprises. Beer selection is well above average for the size of the town.

I thought the food was excellent. I had the lunch special of a pulled pork sandwich, fries, and coleslaw. (I don't like everyone's coleslaw but it was great.) The waitress was very friendly and allowed my friends and I to sit and visit since we were all from out of town. We will meet there again.
