This birria torta from BIG RED TACOS hits the spot. I enjoy their birria tacos and burritos and it's hard to stray away from something you know that's good. But I tried the torta today and it was worth it. Bread was crispy, beans prevented it from being dry, the cheese was gooey (I swear this fella is a cheese whisperer or something!), and of course the birria was on point with taste and texture. I like how they have top tier birria and expand their menu with that. Their refreshing agua fresca with the torta was icing on the cake. If you like breaded sandwiches then this is a must try. They're at Fleet Farm today till 6 or sell out.
Excellent birria tacos! Made from beef braised in an adobe-seasoned stew, shredded, put in a soft taco shell, dipped in the stew, then put on a griddle to crisp up a little. The dipping sauce is the braising liquid, so you can drink it, but it's better used for dipping the taco before eating. Not too spicy, with enough heat to make 'em interesting and delicious! What really sets this place is the gracious and energetic service. Large portions and very fair prices. This is the kind of business you want to support, because they do everything the right way. I'm grateful for these hardworking members of the Sioux City community.

Absolutely BANGIN tacos!! I have never had anything like these. They come with lime and dipping broth but you won't be dipping..you'll be drinking it out of the cup!

Probably my favorite taco in Sioux City. Both times I've visited they've done very well. The portions can be large but what's nice is that I can share with my wife and daughter. The birria tacos are especially amazing and some of the best i've had. Great friendly service too.
