I have to give the server credit and kudos for knowing which foods were gluten free. Many foods were not but the fresh fruit, salads and plain foods like mashed potatoes, green beans etc. were fine. They had lots of food for the number of people in the store. Over all it was good, but sometimes some sat a little too long.
My wife and I went here for their Thanksgiving buffet. We had to wait in line about 15 minutes, but the wait was worth it. All restaurant staff was very friendly and the operation, from check in/payment to getting our food was well-managed and smooth. The salad area ingredients were clean and fresh. Serving bowls were kept filled and serving utensils were clean. Salads were tasty, fresh, and crisp. Salad dressings were ample and the serving area was kept clean by staff members. The main entrées were turkey, ham, steak, some type of fish, beef stew, some Asian entrées, and Mexican food. There was also baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, green beans, cranberries, Golden Corral's famous yeast rolls, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, ice cream, and more. We had iced tea and pop, but alcoholic beverages are available, too.The young woman who waited on us, making sure our tea and pop glasses were filled, clearing empty plates, and seeing if we needed anything extra was friendly and efficient. I noticed she was that way with all the diners in the section.I can't imagine having a better Thanksgiving buffet dinner anywhere in Sioux City. We had not been to the Golden Corral since they reopened, but I'm sure we'll return.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in my life.Service: Staff was friendly. Our waitress was very kind and kept our beverages full.Food: Everything I tried that was supposed to be hot, was hardly warm. From the biscuits you could chip your tooth on, to the Mac and cheese that tasted like cardboard mush. All the food outside of the desserts was nearly inedible. The desserts were okay, but with the vibe of the restaurant and my experience up to that point, I couldn't enjoy a thing.Atmosphere: The atmosphere of this place reminded me of a very sad nursing home. The interior needs to be updated!
I've been eating here for several years and it was always great. The new owner has changed all that. Extremely rude. I got a refund and will NEVER eat there again. He did short me out of several dollars on my gift card on the refund but I was happy to leave. I've never been treated like that at a restaurant ever. Just crazy!
Food was very good, we arrived a half hour before closing. There probably would have been a little more variety if we arrived earlier, but the food we had was very good. The staff was very friendly and happy to help. The steaks were excellent.
Although the price was a good deal. The food we good and with a large selection. The food waste was completely mind bogglingly insane. I'm looking around at the staff throwing plates and plates of food away and it blew my mind. I asked the waitress if I was able to pay extra to take our leftover food home. She said no, that's not an option, "we are not even allowed to take food home". I then asked if I could speak to the manager. I said Hey I'm wondering do you just throw the food away or do you give it to local pig farmers? I asked because I do have a pig farming friend. He looked at me like I was crazy and said "we take care of it". He then rolled his eyes and walked away. I'm not some earth activist worried about my carbon footprint by all means. But when you seen a waitress fill up an entire garbage bag from one table that had 4 people sitting at it. It definitely got me shook. I will not be returning.
If only I can leave a 0 on the star. Worse place ever. Service is not the best. Seat anywhere they say. We sat with my family, and they told us we couldn’t seat there. Ok then tell us where? The food is horrible. Chicken not cooked well and meat was so salty. Pizza feels like plastic. Don’t break a tooth. Should has known. Parking was empty and empty restaurant. Should have guess right. I recommend somewhere else. Don’t come here! Don’t waste your money.
The woman who was at the cash register to take our money, you can tell she was just thrilled to be there- NOT! She wasn’t the friendliest. The waitress we had who got our drinks and took care of our dishes, she was very friendly and helpful. The food was ok? I was expecting it to taste better than it did. Just looked like a lot of stuff sat out way too long. Probably won’t go back. Also, this was my first time ever going to a Golden Corral. A little on the disappointed side. Was expecting better.
Went there at 5:00 p.m. no fresh food The Bourbon Street chicken was black half the pans were empty and the tea didn't even taste like tea. I ended up eating one slice of tomato a small piece of baked fish and left and ended up stopping somewhere else to pick up fast food because I was still hungry nothing on their bar was edible
Great service, food was awesome, they had the best fresh baked dinner rolls(buns) I've eaten in years. It's worth a return trip just for them! Shrimp with excellent cocktail sauce and all the other goodies got me hooked. We will be back!

At one point this buffet was not good at all they had to actually close it down at one point but now they have completely redeemed themselves it's super clean the waitresses bring refills ASAP and their food seems to have gotten better. Good job all around.
Most things were ok, but some foods looked like they had sat for too long. Some things were very dry, and didn't have much flavor. I understand it's hard to keep everything fresh with a buffet. On the good side, they have separate party rooms for a family get together. We had 20 plus people, and everyone found something to eat, without a long wait time. Our server was very good at keeping the tables cleared and the refreshments full. Will definitely return.
My favorite is the Bourbon Street chicken. It's the main reason I come here. The pot roast is pretty good too. Mac and cheese is a hit or miss. The staff are pretty friendly from my experience. Some won't let your cup empty while others tend to take a little while to come around to check on you. The bathroom is usually pretty gross, and I dread it if I have to use it while I'm there. Overall, pretty good experiences there just try to avoid the bathroom.
My friend took me out for a belated birthday dinner. The first staff was very efficient when we first came in. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks. Plus our server make sure that we were well taken care of. In the food staff make sure that the food was well stocked and hot. Thank you Golden Corral for a wonderful night. We had a wonderful night!
We haven’t been in to eat in a while and weren’t aware of dining hours. We come in at 7:40 and the cashier did not state that they would close neither, I paid $57 for three adults and at 8:00 they called last call for buffet at 8:06 they started taking all the serving spoons out of the food on the buffet, and one of the kitchen staff seemed upset that I used the potato serving spoon for gravy as there were no other serving spoons available I told the manager whom the waitress said name was bob and he stated that there were big signs on the door I stated well I haven’t been here in a long time, he laughed and unapologetically said well there are big signs everywhere and on the front door. He then stood by the cashier area with another manager mohamad in a red shirt laughing about what seemed to be me addressing them about the closing time. We were then asked by three other waitresses during our supper if we needed anything else. Not sure if that was to rush us to eat as they assured us that was not why they were asking?. If it wasn’t for the waitress being as polite as she was and telling me to call corporate because bob doesn’t care and the other manger mohamad in the red shirt doesn’t saying anything I wouldn’t of calmed down as I did, we sat and ate. What bothered me the most was that we weren’t aware of closing time had I known that I would of ate somewhere else and not been rushed and bob the manager not concerned at all, but for a late night sale only to take the food away and rush people out of the restaurant.
