I bring my kids here weekly since school started, especially my 4 year old. She loves the “apple donuts” we don’t know donut names at all. We got in there today and thought we saw them so we excitedly asked “are those the Apple ones?” The lady answered saying a flip or something and I went “with the Apple filing?” And she stared at me and rudely said “I’m helping this lady first” because she was checking someone out. I apologized as we were just excitedly asking. She then stood at the register and shook her head, rolling her eyes and muttering under her breath as I stood right there with my 4 year old. She was extremely rude but her attitude changed the second another lady came from the back. So we will now be finding another donut place for my kids despite this one being right down the street.

Very rude lady on the phone when I asked if I could pick up donuts today and yelled “NO” without any solution or explanation. I then said that I had to unfortunately cancel my order as the pick up time wasn’t going to work me the next day. When I told her that, she laughed and hung up the phone.

A nice local bakery w echoes of yesterday, but feels tired & uninspired. Inside dining is clean but barebones. All donuts 🍩 are $1.35, while HyVee donuts are $1.00. Donuts are more dense and less airy, cakey than most, but tasty and good 😋 Overall, a legit bakery w/ ways to improve.

I've been ordering donuts here for several decades and I have never had one that wasn't delicious. They definitely have the best yeasted donuts in Sioux City, and I'm a big fan of the apple fritters in particular. I am usually too late for donut holes, but I highly recommend them if you get there in time.

My whole family has gotten cakes here and never had an issue. I ordered a 8 inch cake and asked for gold and white. After seeing the cake I am extremely disappointed. They did like a brown orange color for the “gold”. I asked nicely if someone was there to fix the cake because of how bad it looked but there was no one. This problem never would have occurred if the cake decorator called me and told me they couldn’t do a gold color, and we could have figured something else out. I would have been happy with all white, but there was no communication. It’s obvious the effort wasn’t there. The lady that helped me was trying to gaslight me into thinking the brown orange color was gold when it obviously isn’t. They need to work on their customer service skills as well.The manager did give me half a refund, but all I wanted was more effort!

I am very disappointed in Sunkist Bakery I been ordering cakes there for over 20 years never ever had a bad cake I have ordered 2 and both of them were dry and nasty tasting. I don't understand you guys took pride in your cakes always had them decorated so cool now you just throw them together. I will not be back and your store is dirty and you never have any donuts available anymore. So sad you were always the best bakery in town now you are the worst.

We have ordered cakes for the last 10+ years at Sunkist. Unfortunately, this was the first year where we had a horrible experience that makes us question if we will continue to order cakes from them in the future. We went in to order the cake on the 7/20 and the lady behind the counter would not take the order because “we have to put the order in closer to the event” and they “will not take any orders until 1-2 weeks before the event.” My son’s birthday party was 8/24. We went again and again several times, at least once a week since then and the same lady said the same thing. We went in on 8/20 after we were instructed to come in specifically that day to finally place our order and the same lady said that “they are not taking orders because they have too many orders”. Clearly they were taking orders previously when they told us that they are not. So after trying to place an order for over a month, we still ended up with no cake. To say we are devastated is an understatement as we have ordered cakes from Sunkist for many years and was planning on continuing to do so. Unfortunately, nothing can be done for my son but I hope they will change something about this process/the lady behind the counter taking the orders or they will continue to lose business from loyal customers.
Good doughnuts. Have gone for 2 years, no complaints.Ignore the nascent reviews, salty tears and sweet doughnuts pair well together.

I take my daughter on Fridays for a nice treat and asked for glazed and a chocolate Doughnuts and received day old Doughnuts expecting fresh. Dried up! Disgusting. If you don't have fresh don't sell them at fresh price and not say anything to the customer.

Morningside location was so ran down on the inside, dreary. There was a very poor selection of donuts. They had a similar texture to rough homemade bread, not soft texture I've had with any others at any store. They were also dry, lacked flavor, and one of my donuts had an uncooked spot. The employees smoke rite outside the back door which is easily visible to customers and about 60 feet from the customer entrance. #Never again.
