Great experience and delicious food. Atmosphere carries the name of the restaurant. Don’t let the restaurant theme scare you away. Very tasty and very enjoyable. Look forward to returning again.
Hands down the most amazing establishment I have ever been to. Everything about it is perfect. The food is rich in just the right way, well cooked, correct portions, and always the right temperature. The drinks are poured correctly after two drinks I feel good. The service is the right amount of attentive and polite, but fun. The Cauldron in the Okoboji area has an eclectic vibe that carries the name of the restaurant from the decor to the music. The atmosphere is unique and relaxed, with a calm and mystical "witches brew" vibe. The menu is interesting and different, and the food is absolutely delicious, rich in just the right way, well cooked, correct portions, and always the right temperature. Specific meals mentioned include the soup, the "creamy" poblano polenta, mushroom and quinoa meatballs, the Hearth Pork, a cup of stew, the soup of the day (creamy mushroom and wild rice), the Friday BLT of the day, the Ember Skewers, their salad, the "Field and Fire" (Hanger Steak with trimmings), and cherry pie a la mode. The soup was awesome and was served in a little cauldron. The main dishes were good but had some faults, as the "creamy" poblano polenta had a weird chunky texture and the mushroom and quinoa meatballs fell apart and were hard to eat. The drinks are poured correctly, including a French 75 and a very nice Porter. The service is great, the right amount of attentive and polite, but fun, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The food was a little slow coming of the Kitchen, but not slow enough that the meal was negatively impacted. The Cauldron is a new FAVORITE Restaurant in the Okoboji area and comes highly recommended.
