We appreciate the people, all the food (Chili Relino), other guest, and the atmosphere. What's not to like?

The food was not impressive to me or my friend. Neither of us even finished half. Our margaritas tasted like water. The secret sauce tasted as if it was basically equal parts oil, vinegar, and pepper.

Was so excited to see one of these still around. Visited with my mom and sister for dinner. Portions were very small compared to anywhere else we visit frequently. Food and service were good however our chips were stale...

Great place for Mexican cuisine. When we come to the DesMoines area El Rodeo is frequently one of our dinner stops.

We have been going to El Rodeo for Years. It has always been the best Mexican Food we always compared any Mexican restraunt we went to ElRodeo no one ever compared. Today I have to say was so disappointing. The food tasted completely different the rice and beans were not the same they tasted like cheap canned product. I had chicken fajitas, no flavor. Then to top it off we got a half a basket of Chips and they had already cut the size of the salsa down to a small dipping bowl size. Not a good experience at all. Will not go back. That hurts me to say that!

Typical tex-mex decor with wood paneling, prints of latina village woman in various poses. We stopped in for a late Saturday lunch. The wait staff was friendly and patient coming back multiple times as we had a hard time figuring out what we wanted. Refilling chips and salsa, and drinks. The food we ordered came hit and plentiful. Everything tastes great and most of us took home leftovers. The chicken chimi didn't make it to a Togo container. It was just too good. The chips and salsa were good for a hungry bunch but we're on the bland side. The chips had no flavor on their own.
