Happy Joe's Pizza - Urbandale

Had been to Happy Joes in 20 yrs. First order back and all I can say is it was all BEAUTIFUL! 2nd order back even more BEAUTIFUL! I recommend to anyone go check them out. Remember when pizza was good & you'd open the box and start drooling & want to start eating in the car, you'd fight the urge all the way home. This is them!

I am from NE Iowa and the closest HJ to us is in CR so we don't make it there often. I was driving through DM tonight and realized there was one in Urbandale so I made a stop before heading home. I ordered online which was super easy to do and the pizza was ready when I arrived! The guy at the front desk was friendly and even asked if I wanted plates and napkins to go, which was great because we definitely ate some of the pizza on the drive home haha

I ended up popping back in before we hit the road to buy a pop and the owner ended up giving it to me on the house which was super kind of him! Whenever we come to DM moving forward, we will be taking home a HJ pizza from the Urbandale store from now on!

Oh, and per usual, our Canadian Bacon pizza was delicious! It's absolutely my favorite pizza hands down!

Ordered a 3 topping pizza through Door Dash. There are hardly any toppings on the pizza. Rip off. Never again.

If zero was an option I’d use it. Absolutely terrible experience start to finish. Maybe not train the new guy on taking phone orders on a Saturday night during the state fair. Which I don’t blame the kid too much Absolutely trash wings pretty sure they were accidentally coated in buffalo sauce. Then coated in bbq to prevent having to do them over. Regardless i could barely eat one wing. I’m not one to complain often. But this place is garbage. I would rather eat little Caesars. Either way your food managed to take away our appetite. Skip the ranch too. Tasted liked Kraft ranch. The garlic cheese bread was a hit. But I’d assume it’s just hyvee Texas toast but that was the highlight

If you haven’t had Happy Joe’s in the last year you need to give them another shake. The new franchisees have employees in there that make great pizza. I have left a 1 star review on Yelp for the previous franchisee and the new franchisee contacted me after taking over and completely turned the place around. For the past 6 months I’d say we eat here once every week or every other week. We get pepperoni and sausage and taco pizza. The ingredients are so good. The sauce is sweet and smooth. The cheese mix is high quality with a generous portion. And the sausage and pepperoni are amazing! Service is second to none. We’re so thankful for your business in our neighborhood. Thank you for the great dinners and memories. Ive been eating happy joes my whole life and happy the quality of pizza and service are like I remember it growing up.

I love me some Happy Joe's. (I'm from the QC) They've been here as long as I've owned my house here and never known and Google clearly failed me. Canadian bacon and sauerkraut. My favorite. (Don't knock it till you try it. My wife didn't like sauerkraut until this pizza.) Sausage and mushroom is my second favorite. Between this and Taste of New York Pizza, I feel at home between my life in Iowa and NYC. Just wish Hometown Pizza had been able to stay open. I'd have my favorite 3 at my fingertips..

Best pizza in Iowa, I'm originally from Portland Oregon and I'm used to Great pizza, no one compares until I came here, perfect crispy crust just like back home. Pricess are Great, we are used to paying $35- $42 for a giant pizza so there prices seem fair for A Great pizza. Love this place.
