I was on the road working and my family was coming out to visit with me in Vinton, IA. I mentioned that there was a upscale looking Mexican restaurant across the street from one of my work sites so we decided to meet there for dinner. It was our first time coming here, and i, having a sensitive stomach call ahead, to tell them what time we would be there, and asked if they had a salsa without onions or garlic. They said that their house salsa, had onions and garlic in it, but they would be willing to make me a salsa fresh to my liking most places wouldn't have gone out of their way to do that and I truly appreciate I'm willing to do so. Both the host, and our server Mathew, were very gentlemanly, going out of their way to make my family and I comfortable, even though we had arrived so late, and so close to closing time. The food was absolutely excellent, very professionally made, large portions, not messy, not greasy, and very well prepared. The atmosphere was comfortable and everyone seemed enthusiastic, and happy, working there. You could truly feel their positive energy. I would truly recommend Tequilero Mexican restaurant to anyone living in the area or simply passing through for a meal.

Try the new buffet food was cold hyped this place up to my parents only to be disappointed. Nobody wants to eat cold Mexican food plus there was a nice draft from the broken glass door to enter the establishment post remodel.

Grew up in Vinton, visit this place every time I’m back. The food is excellent. The drinks are very good. Queso fundido is very good. Last trip we had chicken enchiladas with both green and red sauce, chimichangas, taco salads. Recommend all three. Chips are homemade and are also very good.

Clean modern restaurant with large menu. The menu had so many items and things that I don't always see. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable about menu items. They were able to easily modify for a food allergy. The vegetarian and vegan items had a lot of variety.

If you ask for hotter salsa, you get charged $5 and the server does not inform you. I have been there 4 times and there are always flies bothering us and the place smells like a cheap cleaning supply. Smells like Fabuloso to me.

Tried it twice. Won't be back. Chips were great. Food was average at best. Drinks were a failure both times. Probably shouldn't have went a 2nd time after the sewage back up in the parking lot the first time.

Elias was an outstanding server! From the moment we sat down, he greeted us with a warm, friendly smile and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our meal. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and he made thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. He was attentive without being overbearing, refilling drinks just when needed and ensuring that everything was to our liking. Elias also had a great sense of timing, bringing out each course perfectly spaced. Overall, his excellent service made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend!
